Her green eyes turned to Clover and stuided her from behind the safty of her mask. Remembering that she couldn't smile in it she inclined her head gracefuly to Clover with a soft chuckle from behind the stone.
"Hello Clover I'm Corsica, it's nice to meet you. You can't tell it but I'm smiling under the mask." She grined inwardly and chuckled softly "someone esle that loves the tasty ness which is diet coke, I'm in luck.."

she nodded as she caressed the gliff hidden in the swirls of the mask and it slid off as she smiled at Clover
"ahh much better" she looked over at cover and grinned. "it's so nice to meet a firendly face, I havn't had much by way of company since I Have got here." she smiled at the girl and took a sip from her goblet and a bite of her pie.

Corsica looked around for a moment her green eyes scanning the room with a smile on her rich rosy lips.
"so what house are you? I havn't met many of the people around here, but I don't think I've seen you in my common room." Corsica smiled to herself and shruged her shoulders a bit.

The doors hadn't been closed for too long after the departures of Kezaa and Isaac when they swung open again, admitting yet another costumed figure who paused in the doorway to drink in the sight of the Great Hall.
An arresting sight on an everyday basis, tonight the Hall truly looked magnificent. The ceiling, enchanted to reflect the night sky outside, seemed to stretch on forever, housed millions of glimmering diamonds in a velvety black blanket, while eddies of fog wafted their way through an impressive number of floating Jack'o'lanterns, each fantastically carved and flickering in the light that their candles provided so that they looked almost alive. Someone had showered the room with a numerous amount of fake spiders, and the room's latest occupant noted with some amusement that a few of them seemed to be wriggling.
Candles were set out at regular intervals around the tables, too, providing more than enough light to see the impressive array of costumes that smattered the room.
Hikalyn's own costume was no less impressive than any there. Her inspiration for this one had sprung at least partially from her druidical costume that she'd worn at the Masquarade Ball; but this was a good deal more extravagant. Hikalyn had come to the feast garbed as the Lady of Avalon.
She was dressed in a robe styled after what the Lady of the Lake would have worn when in state, long enough that her feet were entirely invisible under its full skirts, with its sleeves that were tight-fitting up until a few inches before her wrists, at which point they ended in a graceful fall of not-quite-opaque fabric that brushed the ground when she dropped her hands to her sides. Thanks to a few quick modifications on her part, the material of the robe shimmered, constantly shifting through any number of shades of saffron and viridian. The change was subtle, not enough to be distracting, yet it was never quite the same shade no matter how quickly you glanced back for a second look. It was cinched at the waist with a simple length of deerskin cord, that item's simplicity almost incongrous with the rest of her costume, and similar bands wound around the sleeves at the elbow joints, rather like bracelets.
Even her hair hair was done up in an elaborate coif, the raven tresses held in check by carefully placed ivory pins, lending her a severity that was surprisingly becoming. As a final touch, the cresent of those who served the Goddess was painted on her brow in blue dye, and careful application of makeup had made her skin appear already fair skin appear alabaster, while giving her cheeks and lips just the right amount of colour. It made her appear somehow ageless, rather than a girl of seventeen.
She headed towards the Slytherin table at a somewhat slower pace than she usually would have, a slowness that was in part forced by the unused-to, elaborate skirts of her costume, but that also came from the air of serene dignity she had assumed as part of the ensemble. After all, if she was going to do the thing, she might as well do it properly. For just one night, become someone else entirely. Take on their joys, their worries, their pains, because no matter what someone else's lot in life, their troubles can always be made to seem pale when standing up against our own.
She reached the Slytherin table after what seemed to her an inordinately long time, but was really no more than about thirty seconds, and plopped down into an empty seat beside Orca. "Nice costume," she remarked, the assumed cool serenity lost in her good-natured smirk. "Where'd you come up with that one?"

Orca grinned. "I don't really remember, actually... All I do remember is that somewhere along the line I had a dream about me working part-time as a maid. And I was like, 'whoa, I look soooo cute in those shoes!'" The wolf-boy nodded. "So I decided to come like this." Glancing around, Orca leaned forward and whispered, "Actually, I don't see how youse guys can walk in these things." He smiled cheerfully, and absently tugged the hem of his skirt line lower. "Anyway, I love your costume. Youse that Avalon person, no?" OOC: Sorry so short. Ran out of inspiration, nyeh.

"'That Avolon person'?" she echoed, her amused smile broadening into a full-fledged grin. "Yeah, I suppose you could say that. If with a bit more eloquence." She resisted the urge to stick her tongue out at him with difficulty, but she couldn't supress a giggle as she watched the shaggy-haired boy fuss with the hem of his skirt. "I...see," she replied, somewhat bemusedly.
Glancing down at the shoes adorning Orca's feet, she grimaced. "You know what?" she replied, lowering her voice in a mock-conspiritorial tone. "I could never walk in those, either." Despite the levity, she was speaking the truth. She couldn't see how anyone, boy or girl, could walk in the things. Nor was she particularly enamored of the idea of trying to find out.
She shrugged, dismissing the thought. "I'm a bit late... did I miss anything interesting?"
OOC: no worries. I was beginning to think I'd killed the thread entirely... ^&^;;; Although, of course, it is a bit out of season by now...
