Snow covered the desolate grounds of the old castle. It didn't look like much to the girl that stood looking at it. But not much to her, was probably something to anyone else. Something...and more then that. But what did you expect from a child of the Monolayre family? Kaitlyn was no exception to the way of her ancient family, and the pure-blood girl was quick enough to remind people of that.
Her short red hair blew softly in the chilly breeze. She didn't shiver though, and the wind passed by with only the momentary cold. In the back of her mind, she saw shivering as a sign of weakness, and that just wouldn't do for her, not at all.
She walked slowly towards the doors. Her cloak was wrapped around her body, and her red eyes glared at the hateful door. She'd been sent here, and if that wasn't bad enough, she was going to have to be in the same vicinity of her cursed half-blood cousin. She was disgusted by idea of even seeing the other. Still, she would have ways to torment her dear relative while she was here.
She pulled the doors open and walked in to the cavernous depths of the Entrance Hall. Paintings framed the walls, and for a moment she was amazed by that. Then that cool exterior took over. Her eyes glazed with cold that did not come from the outside.
She pulled her trunk behind her, the weight familiar. Setting it down on the ground, she sat on top of it. She looked around the Hall once more, and saw no one there. She'd thought they'd at least have the decency to have some one here to greet the new students, but apparently that was too much to ask for.

Dante felt the presense of a new comer what an unfortunte being. She seemed disappointed. Dante had her blind eyes fixed in the direction of the new one. She moved swiftly and stopped beside her. "If you are expecting a large welcome you might as well give up on it, they are much to busy to welcome any one." She said cooly. Dante cocked her head to the side giving a slight smirk. "I'm Dante let me be the first to welcome you."She said quietly.

Kaitlyn saw a figure moving towards her. Mentally, she rolled her eyes wondering if this was the only person to greet her. With the way things were playing out already, she was going to hate this place and the people here. Might as well start with the people she met here, and hate them as she met them.
The figure got closer, and Kaitlyn could see right into those unblinking eyes. Blind. This girl must be blind, and Kaitlyn didn't turn away from that unseeing, unnerving gaze. She never backed down from anything, and she wasn't about to now.
When the girl addressed her, it was in a cold manner, and Kaitlyn seethed silently. She didn't deserve to be told off by some blind girl. She didn't deserve to be told that she wasn't unimportant, and that she might as well give up. She grew to hate this other silently, but didn't display that at all. She buried it in the back of her mind with all the other lessons she'd been taught through the years.
"I'm starting to think, you're right. Pleasure to meet you Dante. I'm Kaitlyn Monolayre."

Hmm the girl didn't seem to like her very much maybe Dante had a bit to cold in her greeting. "You'll have to exuses me, my welcome was not that warm, but you'll come to find that if you are not accepted here, you will meet an unfortunate fate, you'll either become an outcast or you'll end up working against the school." What Dante said told the girl held what had happened to her in it. What she said was the bitter truth and her apathy was a part of it. Once you get over caring anything is possible. "Well I welcome you Kaitlyn Monolayre, where have I heard your last name before?" Dante asked.

Kaitlyn listened as Dante told her that there was only two fates for those who "went against the school". The second fate was deffinetly a much more...suitable one for the girl that stood in front of Dante. It even had a certain sound to it that Kaitlyn liked, but she didn't want to make enemies...yet,
She stored that piece of information in the back of her mind again. She'd need to remember that later, and she didn't want to forget something so important being said to her. She was certain that she'd need that later.
Dante seemed to remember hearing Kaitlyn's last name. Kaitlyn frowned at that, but not in thought. Dante probably knew Teagan then, and she didn't know if the two were "friends" or not. Teagan had probably not made any friends here, but if this girl was a "friend", then she'd need to remember that as well. Dante could be a way to geth to Teagan.
"You've probably met my cousin...Teagan." She tried not to choke on the name of her unwanted cousin. No need to let Dante think anything about her family...until later.

Heidi had been in the common room just sitting on the couch watching the flames flicker and jump, when after an hour it was so boring that Heidi had to get out she thought maybe a walk around the lake would do her some good.
Getting up off the couch Heidi walked out of the common room and headed towards the Great Hall she would stop off first to get some food into her.
Arriving at the Great Hall Heidi heard two girls talking, walking into the Entrance Hall she saw them, one she had met once before and she went by the name of Dante
Walking up closer to the two, Heidi was wearing her favourite tight black jeans and a black T-shirt that had written on it The Used. Her long purple hair was down, out and straight and her bright purple eyes watched the two as she got closer "Hello I am Heidi, Slytherin Student pleasure to meet you" Heidi said smiling then looking at Dante "Pleasure to see you again too Dante" Heidi didn't know if Dante would remember her as they only met once before

Yes Teagan thats how she knew the girls last name. "Teagan yes I know her she friends with the Ravenclaw Persephone, whom I talk to often, shes around alot we've talked quiet a few times, shes a Prefect which means she has power within the school, so I try to stay on her good side, if I didn't i could get in trobule, I need to stay in the school...for now." Dante said her voice was quiet so she knew only the girl could hear her. "You don't seem to like her very much."

Kaitlyn had to stifle the urge to laugh. This other girl that had joined them was too perky. Her hair was beautiful and strangely colored, and she wondered if the girl was a pure blood. Maybe she could be a pleasant aqquantince to her...that was until she opened her mouth to talk. She seemed too full of energy, and Kaitlyn almost fell over when she heard that this Heidi was in Slytherin. She didn't deserve to be there, more likely she should have been in Hufflepuff with the other too happy people.
I might go insane with all these people. Dante's not that bad, but this Heidi's too happy. They should have laws against that sort of thing. And how in the name of Night did she get into Slytherin?!?!
The injustice that she would be spending time in the same common room as Heidi hit her full on. That little jolt of hate didn't show itself in the depths of her crimson eyes though. They looked back at the girl cooly, but no one but her family would have noticed that. Most people would have thought that she was thinking or measuring something in her mind.
"Nice to meet you Heidi. I'm Kaitlyn Monolayre. I'll be in your house." Once more she tried not to choke on the words.

Heidi could read this girl like a book, one of those girls that are nice to her face but deep down wishing her would die.
"looks like you will have a good time then, you'll have to put up with me something you will hate" Heid said looking at the new girl like one of the girls that used to push her around before she came here, it wasn't going to happen again.
Heidi's smile was now gone and now was a face of hatedread.

"Hello Heidi." Dante said. "Oh yes I'm also in Slytherin." Dante had forgotten that bit of information. Maybe that would make Kaitlyn feel a bit better she had a feeling that she was uncomfertable with the amount of energy Heidi had. She reached in her kimono sleeve and pulled out a small book. She opened it and wrote somthing down. She placed it back into her sleeve. She knew someone who might be intrested in Kaitlyn. She had retaught her self to write and would always deliver it to the right person. "So your going to be in Slytherin as well?" Dante asked readjusting her-self.

Kaitlyn didn't drop her mask, didn't even lower it by an inch. She knew better than to do that, and she wondered how long it would take Heidi to figure that out. Kaitlyn may not have been the brightest crayon in the box, but she could out last the others by a few hundred candle marks. It was self-preservation, and Heidi would need to learn that now more then ever because Kaitlyn didn't like the weak.
So she does have a brain. How amusing. Looks like someone else has already beaten me to making her life miserable. I'm sure I can add my own special touch to that though.
The cold crimson of her eyes looked at Heidi blankly. Anyone else would have seen that as an innocent look, but it wasn't. It was instinct. Blank everything, and then no one can trace their way back. If there's no road, no one can walk it, and that works for everything. That was the first lesson in Monolayre survival.
Maybe she should be thanking me for giving her these lessons.
"You're probably right, though I don't have be around you all the time. I'm certain I wouldn't be put in a class, or dorm, with anyone like you. Maybe I can find some people with brains in our...my...house. Right now, it looks like Dante's the only one I've met with a brain. And yes, I'll be joining you in Slytherin." Kaitlyn's voice drawled on boredly. Each word dripped with venom and dry sarcasm.

Dante felt the air fill with tension and couldn't help but smirk. This could get intresting, but she didn't want Kaitlyn gone before she got a chance to see her potential. "Here is not the best place for this." She said. It wasn't an order or a command just a kind suggestion. Maybe this was meant to be maybe it was simply something happening, but Kaitlyn could be a poweful ally. "Where do you come from Kaitlyn?" She asked. Hopeing to stop them from fighting. It just simpli wouldn't do, master wouldn't be happy.

Kaitlyn had a feeling that Dante wanted to avoid the situation. That was ok, there would be time for this later. She'd remember to make sure to teach Heidi a few more...lessons while she was here. Surely Heidi would remember her teachings long after Kaitlyn was gone. With the way she planned to teach this, it would be hard to forget.
Turning to face Dante, her eyes still cold and glazed. She had the feeling that Dante saw something in her, and Kaitlyn was curious, but like every other emotion, she hid that as well. Maybe she could get along with Dante...for the purpose of business, of course.
"I'm from the States. What about you, Dante? Where do you come from?"
She turned to look icely at Heidi. Maybe they could have a slightly civil conversation, as long as the happiness was kept to a minium. She could survive that...for a little while at least.

Ange had been around the corner when Heidi entered and Kaitlyn had been rude to her.
Ange popped out from around the corner "Brains, well are you sure YOU are in the right house the right house last time I checked you could find poeple who were more brainy in Ravenclaw" Ange said looking at Kaitlyn, if there was ne thing that Ange hated most of all it was people who were rude to the people who were trying to be nice.
Ange gave Heidi a half smile, "You will find alot of people you don't like but you are not the one to try and make their life hell" Ange said

Kaitlyn looked coldly amused as she heard another voice. This one was furious, and Kaitlyn felt that sudden urge to laugh. She hadn't said anything cruel, at least not by her standards, and here was this girl running and and saying how evil she was. Well, at least this other would gain some lessons in life as well.
Judging by the way this girl spoke, she must have been one of those righteous good for nothing Gryffindors, or an all to caring Hufflepuff. She tried not to roll her eyes at the thought of dealing with more people like that. Still, she would have fun with this girl as well.
"Am I? And you and your high and mighty attitude are not? Excuse me for saying so, but maybe she doesn't need your help defending herself. Maybe she can speak for herself...but then again...maybe not."
Her words were dry and deep, sadistic humor filled in the gaps, and the lances of loathing slashed through the words. It was clear to anyone around her that she had the deepst of hatred stirring in her. The crimson of her eyes looked like blood. Hate and blood, they just seemed to fit.
Frozen eyes faced this new girl and Heidi. It was fun to play with the gullible...even more fun to play with the self-righteous. And she wanted to see what they were made of. Maybe Heidi wasn't as weak as she looked, and maybe this new girl actually had a backbone.
