Kody sighed with a small smile on her face. "I was just telling Sirese here the story. My uncle, the one who's in the band? He was on tour and at a concert, some crazed, drunk fan shot him in the side. My brother would have stayed with him, but he would have lost his job at the music corp., so I flew out as fast as I could to see him. He's fine now, thank goodness. He got through physical therapy well, and he's working on plans for his next tour. She shook her head, grinning. "He loves performing so much, he won't give it up. And of course I would never hide from my dear friends here."

"And I believe I already told you the answer once, Prince. I'm not taking the risk. I've taken enough risks, cheated fate enough times, and I'm not doing it again," Hayzie replied, an almost cold tone to her voice. Inside, he was beginning to wear her down, but on the outside, the facade stayed in place. There was no way she could allow herself to take that one final risk.
It could, after all, be the risk that wouldn't give her the second chance.
Listening in on Kody's story, the blonde girl shook her head. "It goes to show," she answered, "that some people won't give up no matter what. It makes the world a stronger place to have people like your Uncle in it, Kody. I'm glad he's better, though. And it's even better to have you back!"

Kody watched the exchange between Sirese and Hayzie, keeping an impassive look on her face. She had no clue what was going on. Perhaps it was better that way, though. She turned her focus back to Hayzie when her friend spoke.
"Aww. Thanks. I'll be sure to tell him when I write him. He'll really appreciate that."
Her face turned serious. "So I see that many things have happened while I was a way," she stated, glancing at Hayzie's chair.

"Don't look so serious," Hayz almost laughed at Kody's suddenly calm expression. It was one she should pick up herself really. After all, a few months ago she hadn't been able to stop laughing at the sight of the camp-fire Hufflepuffs in one of the empty classrooms.
Keeping the smile on her face, she continued: "A lot has happened, but now isn't the time to fill you in on it, seriously," Hayz explained, bringing her wand out and in seconds, four mugs of hot chocolate were floating in the air. "I'm sure you've had a long journey... hot chocolate?"

Kody's eyes lit up as she spotted the steaming mugs. "Of course," she said grinning, as she took one of the mugs. She took a long sip, sighing contentedly.
"It was a bit of a trip, but not unpleasant. I opted to take a flight from the states, instead of other methods of travelo, as i haven't been on a plane since my uncle's tour...was it 4 years ago? Yes. 4 years. My, time goes by fast."

ooc: Forgive the delay and my laziness bic: Kasey smiled widely as her old friend tackled her with a hug. Picking herself up she laughed, "Its a hard urge to resist, isn't it? I don't know how I held off" she added grinning. She smiled as Hayzie as she appeared by her in her wheelchair, "I have been well thanks" she said giving a nod, "How have you been my honorary Hospital Wing member" she joked. Turning now to Sirese, she smiled and held out a hand, "I'm Kasey, pleased to finally meet you properly too". Standing now Kasey listened as Dakota told the story of her uncle again for Hayzie and listened to their conversation. Then four mugs of hot chocolate hovered in front of the blonde nurse and she grinned, rubbing her hands together, "Ooo yum, yes please" she said rubbing her hands together and then plucking a mug from the air.
