Judin dragged her suitcase over the doorstep, smiling despite the effort. She was so excited. Once inside, she exhaled and righted herself, looking around. "Can you believe we are finally here, Ferdinand?" She asked, and looked down at her breast pocket. There was a warm lump moving restlessly around in it. The blonde pulled up her pet rat, and put him on her shoulder. "Isn't this place grand?" She asked, throwing her arms out to encompass the entire castle.
That was the moment her suitcase, an old, tattered thing with leather straps, decided to explode. Judin cried out and jumped backwards as all her clothes and belongings were flung into the air.
"Bloody, prime timing for the shrinking spell to backfire," the blonde grumbled to herself, before going down on her knees to gather up her sweaters, books, panties, photos and pyjamas and put them all back into their confinement. She sighed, but even this embarrassing accident couldn’t quite kill her joy.
'Just imagine, a new school and a fresh start! This time things will work out alright. Lightning doesn't hit the same person twice, after all.'

Aednat couldn't contain her excitement as she practically ran down the drive to the entance of the school. She dragged a suitcase behind her that she was practically lifting off the ground in her enthusiasm and impatience to reach to doors, despite the fact that it weighed a ton. Her big blue eyes shimmered in anticipation as she took in her surroundings. Sure, she would certainly miss her friends and family, but there were going to be so many new people here to meet, and that prospect thrilled her. She turned back to wave one last time at her family. As she lifted her long curly brown hair out of her eyes, she saw them laughing at her. She laughed to. She knew it must look funny to see her, a slim girl and a mere 5 foot, lugging such a huge suitcase at incredible speed. She blew a kiss and turned back, almost tripping over the balck cat that curled around her ankles. "Aedh!", she exclaimed, and laughing, lifted him up too. She felt she couldn't get inside quickly enough. She dragged her case up the doorstep almost singing with joy, and was presented with the sight of a girl collecting all her possessions from the floor and stuffing them into her suitcase. She rushed forward to help, dumping her own stuff where she was. "Hi!" she said. "Let me help. I'm Aednat, by the way. It's my first day....I'm guessing it's yours too!"

Persephone had been walking through the Entrance Hall on her usual walk of boredom, when she heard something behind her explode. She had passed that girl mere seconds ago, and jumped at the small explosion. When Persephone turned around she could see two girls picking up clothing.
She decided to walk towards them. Her long silvery blonde hair danced around her small body. She had fragile look to her, standing at only 5 foot, small frame, and large expressive emerald eyes. No one would have guessed that she was sixteen by just looking at her.
"Oh!" She bent down with the other girl, and started to help pick things up.
"Hey, I'm Persephone, or as my friends call me, Sephe. What's your two's names?"
She smiled brightly at them, and a light was lit in her eyes.

Aednat twisted around quickly at the sound of another voice and saw a girl smiling widely at them. Her own smile grew, if possible, when she saw this. "I'm Aednat," she said once again. her obvious Irish accent lilting into the air, pronouncing it "ey-nidh". "And this," she said looking around 'til her eyes lighted on her little cat, "is Aedh. It's our first day. I'm in Gryffindor, how about you?" She looked questioningly at Sephe, and then back at the first girl, who hadn't yet introduced herself. She couldn't believe her luck....she had already bumped into two people and she'd only just arrived.

Judin was a little overwhelmed by the enthusiastic, Irish girl with the tumble of brown curls that came up and introduced herself. She had a cat in one hand and a big suitcase in the other, but she put it all down to help gather up the mess on the floor. And while Judin contemplated the best way to respond, another girl arrived, a thin and fragile thing with a wide smile, shining eyes and silver hair.
She smiled gratefully as they helped her pick up her things, before taking a moment to sit back and push her hair away from her face. "I'm Judin Attery. I'm new indeed and sorted into Hufflepuff. Nice to meet you both and thanks for helping me."
Ferdinand had noticed the cat, Aedh, and he was digging his claws into Judin's shoulder, squeaking in fear. "Ow! Ferdinand!" The blonde lifted him and slipped him back into her breastpocket. He curled up into a ball of fur, but seemed happier now.

"Oh, I'm in Ravenclaw. And don't worry, I know how embarrassing it can be to have your stuff thrown all over the place."
She smiled again. It seemed like Sephe was always smiling these days, and she had every reason to do so. Things were nice, the way they were supposed to be. She had friends, her sisters, and her whole house as a family now.
"My sisters are in both of your houses. Allena is in Hufflepuff, and Ariadne is in Gryffindor."

"It's a pity we're all in different houses", Aednat said ruefully, but her happiness couldn't be dampened. It would have been nice had they been in her house, but the fact that they weren't only meant that she had already met people from other houses, as far as she was concerned. She smiled widely again, feeling very lucky- they both seemed so nice! "Judin...Sephe...you two have such lovely unusual names! And so do your sisters!", she added, turning to Sephe. "It's so cool that the three of you are in different houses...you must get to know loads of people that way! Or would you prefer if they were with you?" Remembering something Judin had said, she turned back towards her. "Who's Ferdinand?" Aedh jumped onto her lap and nibbled her finger- probably to remind her to slow down, she thought. But she was just so happy!

Persephone smiled slightly. Her sister and herself had been named after goddesses. Herself after the goddess of spring, and Ariadne after the Croation goddess of the labryinth and mysteries. It was kinda funny that way. The two twins, two different goddesses.
"Yea. It's kinda funny watching people try to pronounce our names, so people start calling us Ari and Sephe. Allena's just Al."
She turned to Judin, wondering who Ferdinand was. She had figured that it was probably just Judin's pet. Dallimar was hers, and people always looked at her like she was crazy when she told Dalli to stop scratching the chairs.

"Maybe I'll bump into Ariadne when I find the Gryffindor common room then!" Aednat replied. "It would be lovely to meet her. And Allena too, of course. I'm looking forward to meeting loads of new people!" She smiled again, her eyes twinkling. Holding Aedh more securely, she straightened herself up- there was no need to stay bent over as all Judin's belongings were back in the case. Her hair danced in the slight breeze- they hadn't closed the door behind them. She wondered again about Ferdinand- she presumed he was a pet, but she hadn't seen any. She grinned at her two new friends- she hoped they were friends, she was going to say they were anyway!- and looked around. She hadn't really stopped to look around the entrance hall until now. She took no notice when Aedh jumped out of her arms and started running around the hall, exploring happily. He looked as joyful and inquisitive as she felt. She did have to call him, though, when he pottered over to Judin and began sniffing at her pocket. "Aedh, you nutcase, come back here!" she laughed, bending back down. He ran to her and licked her hand, but returned immediately to Judin. Laughing again, she allowed a bemused look to settle over her face. "I wonder what on earth he's doing! Sorry Judin, he seems to like you! Hope you don't mind cats!"

'Ariadne, Persephone, Allena and Aednath. Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.' She repeated the names and houses in her head. So much to remember! And she had hardly got through the door! Personally she thought SHE was the one with the most ordinary name.
Judin brought her hand up to shield her pocket when the curious cat caught the smell of prey. He was awfully cute, but she couldn't let him near Ferdinand. "I don't mind him at all," the blonde answered Aednath, "As long as he doesn't mind my pet." She rose to get out of the feline's reach and pulled her rat out of her pocket. "This is Ferdinand." The brown rat chattered and sniffed the air before looking down at his enemy-by-nature.
Like before, Judin's blue eyes were drawn to the splendor of the entrance hall and she thought about the gigantic castle that she had so far only seen properly from the outside. "Persephone, do you know your way around in this place? I need to get to my dormitory, but I have no idea where it is!"
Ferdinand began to struggle in her hands and she brought him closer to her chest, smiling fondly.

Aednat laughed as Judin extracted her pet rat, Ferdinand, from her pocket. So that was what Aedh had been sniffing at! Aedh began to jump, trying to reach Ferdinand, but obviously got nowhere near- his tiny body kept crashing into Judin's legs. Undettered, he kept up his hilarious attemps. He really looked quite comical! "Aedh!" she exclaimed, "you really are a twit. come over here, you silly sweetheart." She scooped him up. "The funniest part is", she said, turning to the girls, "that he just wants to make friends. He's curious that's all...silly darling doesn't understand h-u-n-t-i-n-g...or that cats and rats...well..." she paused..."don't usually get along!" she concluded in a whisper, covering Aedh's ears. "And I like it that way. He makes more friends. Well, he would if all the animals he was supposed to...well...not like...weren't so scared of him!" Allowing him to lie over her shoulder, she rested her hand on her huge suitcase. "You're right Judin, I need to find my common room too. I'd probably better try soon! I haven't got what you'd call the best sense of direction! I can follow maps fine, but, well, I haven't got one! But I'm so glad to have bumped into you guys!" she smiled a warm, wide smile at them. "I hope we'll be able to meet up loads!" Then, spontaneously, as a lot of everything she did was, she dropped her case again, and hugged both her new friends in turn. She looked around, and set off in the general diection of the Gryffindor common room, although aside from taking that particular turn, she had no idea where to go from there. It didn't bother her though. She walked forward with the same zeal and enthusiasm she had had on entering, excited about meeting new people, and doubly happy because of the two she had just met. In fact, she was thrilled! At the corner she turned back to look at Judin and Sephe. "See you both soon!" she called. She flashed them a pretty smile, and herself, her suitcase and her little cat disappeared around the corner.

Judin watched Aednat go with a burning hope of meeting her again. The girl's enthusiasm and happiness was contagious, and her spontanity was something the blonde hoped to learn from. She was still warm from the hug. Ferdinand seemed to have made up his own oppinion about their new friends, chattering to himself, sounding outraged at the treatment he had gotten.
The Hufflepuff smiled at Persephone, "Quite the girl, isn't she?"

Persephone smiled. She had been surpised to watch her walk off with such entusiastic surety. She herself had been not so certain where her common room was. To her it was like a maze, and she was lucky to have made her way to her common room on that first night. But by now she had learned the lay out of the castle. A thousand night time walks had assured her of that.
"Yeah, I suppose she is. But, do you want me to show you to your common room? I don't know the password, but I know where it is..."

Judin knew she was lucky to have someone to show her around. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long to learn the way, but she was already worried about her first day of real school, when she would have to go from classroom to classroom without getting lost and be late.
"Oh, I know the password. Please, lead the way."

Persephone led the way out of the Entrance Hall towards the Hufflepuff common room. She had first learned where it was through her little sister, Allena. It had been awhile since she'd walked her sister back, but she still knew the way.
Adeptly she walked through the maze like hallways, always checking to make sure Judin was behind her. And finally they reached the "abandoned" class room. The strange bookshelf was Judin's door, and Sephe knew that she should probably leave so she didn't know the password. Plus it would be a long walk to her common room.
"Just say your password! And I'll see you guys later!"
She walked away and waved to her friend.
