Or was it? The morning came much to soon, to the annoyance of the frail blonde girl. Alex hauled herself from bed, and walked over groggily towards her mirror. Letting out a sigh, Alex slowly opened her eyes, not wanting to see how her lip was going to look. Much to her surprise, it wasn’t that bad. Unfortunately, if you looked closely, shape of the back of someone’s hand could vaguely be seen.
Rubbing her tired eyes, the blonde shook her head and made her way towards the bathroom after gathering her clothes for the day. Deciding she only wanted to take a quick shower today, Alex went about doing so. Now toweling herself dry, she winced as her towel-covered hand pressed onto the bruise that was part way on her stomach, and part way on her side, shaped much like a foot print.
Slowly and carefully she got dressed, trying hard to not touch any bruises. At least as little as possible. Looking at herself in the mirror in the bathroom, Alex tilted her head to one side. She wore her black, long sleeve, button-up shirt, and a pair of sand-blasted jeans. Ash always loved this outfit. It was what Alex had been wearing when they had first met, then on their first date, and when they had shared their first kiss. Hopefully it would give her some sort of good luck today.
The wait for the bus had been a painfully long one, and her stomach had lurched into a fit of nerves when she had set her foot on the first step. Fighting the urge to turn around run, Alex walked up the stairs, her crystalline gaze searching for the face she was waiting to see. It wasn’t there. Ash wasn’t on the bus. Frowning, Alex slunk into her usual seat, pressing her forehead against the window, staring out at nothing.
Thunder rolled in the distance faintly, barely loud enough to be heard. The sky was clouded over, threatening to spill rain on the earth once more. It was ironic, really.
Before long, the bus came to a screeching halt as they arrived at the school. Stumbling off the bus, Alex searched desperately trying to find Ashley, with no luck of course. Finally giving up when the bell rang, Alex lowered her head, and went to her locker. Slowly putting her combination in, Alex opened her locker, and her azure eyes widened in surprise. Sitting neatly in her locker, was a folded piece of pink paper, and a rose.
With a shaky hand, Alex reached into her locker and wrapped her delicate fingers around the stem of the rose, being careful not to touch the thorns. Taking a whiff of it, she placed it back inside the locker, before taking out the folded paper and unfolding it. It read:
Dear Alex,
I‘m sorry for not being there, I know I said we needed to talk, but I forgot that I had my doctors checkup today. I got mom to drive me to the school so I could leave this letter. Could you please come by my house today after school? I‘ll be waiting for you. I hope you like the rose…
Love you,
Ashley.
Drawing in a deep breath, Alex felt a small smile slip onto her face; things couldn’t be that bad if Ash was leaving her roses and saying she loved her. Sliding the note into her book bag, Alex took one last long look at the rose, before shutting her locker and scrambling off to class, feeling anxious about after school already.
The bus was making it’s final stop in the afternoon, bustling along the dirt road until the houses of on the street were in view. The sky had cleared, and now the bright sun shone down happily on the earth, proudly making it’s come back. Alex’s stomach was worse off now than it had been in the morning, much worse. Looking out at Ashley’s house, Alex swallowed hard, before gathering up her bag and rose, and climbing out of the bus. The front door swung open as she ascended the stairs, and Ashley’s hazel-y-brown eyes peering out her, holding an emotion she didn’t recognize.
Neither of Ashley’s’ parents were home, which Alex was thankful for. Once upon a time she had gotten along great with them, they had loved her certain charm. But, that was until a fateful day that she still remembered so vividly,
<Memory> The day was a nice once, birds signing, sun shining, completely beautiful. Ashley and Alex were at Ash‘s house, neither of her parents were home. Their favorite time. Alone time. Alex was sprawled out on Ash‘s bed, leaning over the side, kissing Ashley, who was sat on the floor, both were so obviously enjoying themselves, that is until the door flew open. A loud crash could be heard, causing the girls to jump apart hurriedly. Milk, orange juice, and brownies covered the hard-wood floor, hovering above them was Ash’s mother, a look of horror on her face. Screaming had followed.</Memory>
After that day, Ashley’s parents didn’t like her, and did their best to avoid talking about her, or to her. Alex glanced around the house that was so familiar to her as they walked up the stairs. Stairs she had fallen down many times, in a rush to go outside and have a snowball war with Ashley, or to go swimming with her, or go to the movies with her, or, well, just do anything with her.
Ashley closed her door behind them as they entered her room. Gesturing towards her bed, she indicated that Alex should take a seat. Alex warily sat down on the edge of Ash’ s bed, looking at her girlfriend with confusion written on her face. Ashley walked over to her desk and pulled her wheelie chair out, taking a seat on it.
They sat there staring at each other for a few moments, looking into each others eyes, getting lost like they had done so many times before. Ashley was the first to look away, shuffling her chair closer nervously. Alex watched, still confused. Taking notice to what Ashley was wearing, a smile found itself on Alex’s lips. Ashley was wearing her baby blue zipper-up sweater, with her power-pink tee underneath, and her light blue jeans. The same outfit she had been wearing when they had first met, then on their first date, and when they had shared their first kiss. It made Alex’s heart skip a beat then beat faster; she had always loved that outfit.
Ashley turned pleading eyes toward Alex, and it took the other girl by surprise, “Alex… I… We… Look… I love you, so much… But…. But my parents… They just… They won’t except that you mean so much to me, they keep telling me it’s juts a phase… I love you… But, I can’t handle living every day knowing I’m disappointing them…” Her voice faltered, then trailed off.
Alex felt her throat get tight, and she turned her head to the side. Her crystalline gaze fell, unfocused, upon the wall. Tears swelled up in her eyes, and she could feel the hot splash of them over her cheeks. Then she felt a hand on her chin. The hand turned her head, and she looked down at Ash, kneeling in front of her, tears rolling down her cheeks as well, “But…But…I love you… Isn’t that enough?” Alex whispered out, followed by a sob. Soft lips brushed against hers in a chaste kiss.
They pulled away, and stared at each other for several long moments. Tears stopped, and eyes stared into the others. In one quick motion, their lips were together again, this time with a fierceness to the kiss. Hands ran through hair, and up sides and backs. They broke away for only a moment to fill their lungs up with oxygen, then were kissing again hungrily. Ashley’s hands tried to work at the buttons on Alex’s shirt, but she fumbled to much, and became impatient. Without thinking further, Ash ripped open the shirt, causing buttons to fly everywhere throughout the room. Alex gasped as she realized what had happened to her shirt, but she didn’t really care. Her whole body was trembling in excitement; she loved having Ashley be so dominate, it was so new, so different then the usually refined girl.
Placing her hands on Alex’s shoulders, Ashley shoved the other girl onto her back, and climbed on top of her, straddling her waist. They continued with their fierce kissing, as Alex yanked down the zipper of Ashley’s sweater, and hauling it from the other girls shoulders. Tossing it into a corner along with her own shirt, the garments were forgotten. Ashley pressed her lips to Alex’s neck, kissing it violently, and nipping occasionally. Alex’s hands slowly started rise up Ash’s pink shirt, rubbing the burning skin of her sides lightly, before she pulled the fabric over the other girls head.
Ashley leaned down against Alex now, burning flesh against burning flesh, causing both of them to gasp in surprise at the first feeling of bare skin against bare skin. Theirs lips collided together once again, and two pairs of trembling hands went to work on the buttons on the others jeans.
A lamp hit the ground as an arm went flying out, grasping onto the side of the bed, and harsh breathing and moans echoed through the room, bouncing off the walls and filling the thick air with sound.
Clothes were everywhere, hanging from the not-broken lamp on the other side of the room, scattered on the floor, on the fan, for some reason, and somehow a bra had managed to make it’s way onto the door handle. The sheets were messed, obviously, and two figured lay tangled in them and around each other. Glacial blue eyes stared at the ceiling, glazed over.
Alex was lying on her back, with Ashley sprawled out on top of her, their legs were twined together, and one of Alex’s hands was on Ashley’s smooth back, lazily making shapes, while the other was stretched above her head, Ashley’s fingers entwined with hers.
Ashley lay with her head on Alex’s chest, listing to the steady rhythm of her heartbeat. She couldn’t believe they had done this. It was so surreal, she thought if she closed her eyes, then opened them again, she would discover it hadn’t happened. More like she wished. They had been silent for quite some time now, both trying to let what they had done soak in. Finally, words were spoken, breaking the silence, yet they were so quiet, they nearly didn’t, “I love you…” the blonde said.
Alex felt Ashley gasp as the words had left her mouth, and wasn’t sure what to expect next. “I…. You… Should go…” And that was it. Ashley pulled herself away from the warmth of her loves bare body, pulled herself away from her emotions; she had to make her parents happy. Alex lay there in shock for a few minutes, as Ashley scurried about the room, collecting all the clothing, getting dressed.
A lump formed in Alex’s throat, but she pushed it down, ignored it, “That’s it…? You just want me to leave!? We… We just… We just made love, and that’s it!? Did it not mean anything to you? Do I not mean anything to you!?” She shrieked, letting tears fall freely. She threw on her bra, and her button-less shirt, then pulled on her jeans, and started shoving on her sneakers, “Fine! Fine… What ever… I just… I just want you to know, that I love you… and… What we just did… That meant everything to me, everything…” Standing up, she stared at Ashley intensely. The other girl said nothing, did nothing. She just stood there, staring at the floor, her face blank.
Furiously, Alex shoved her panties into her pocket, and ran towards the door, grabbing her bag as she went by it. Taking off down the stairs, she nearly tripped a few times, but managed not to. Slamming the door behind her, she ran. And ran. Ran like she had never ran before. Until her legs burned, and her lungs felt like they would burst. That was it. Her world came crashing down around her. And she fell to her knees, her hands dug furiously into the ground, and she began to weep. Weep so hard. It hurt, oh god it hurt. The pain was to much, just to much.
Wow... That was a wee bit long, eh? o.O I'll be lucky if anyone even bothers to read that XDDDD
