Don't be afraid... If only those words were easier done than said. Hayzie closed her eyes tightly. So tightly, in fact, that she missed Kage's transformation completely. The green circles only made a reappearence when the lycan's voice was heard in her head. It was a transformation that took place so quickly, and yet it was the single thing that brought most fear to the girl.
Eventually, the deep breath that she needed came, and Hayzie stepped even further out of the tunnels. Now, the moonlight shone onto Hayz's blonde hair, giving it a strange glow. She knew what would happen next - her stomach would begin to turn, she would feel pain soaring up her arms and legs, and then it would spread further before she saw the green light. After that, the slight girl had no idea. It would all be new to her.
It came. The turning, the pain, the light. The green glow continued to shine, blinding the blonde girl completely. She could see nothing but the green light. "No," Hayz whispered quietly to herself, fighting against the transformation without thinking about it this time. It was almost automatic.

The whole scene seemed to unfold in hardly any time at all. At first, Kage placed himself into the moonlight. Another black wolf like herself. The woman smiled warmly to both facts. One, Kage was finally a member of their pack, and two, he held a pelt of night, like herself.
His howl seemed to beckon her, and no doubt the rest of the Lycans, to join him in a race through the night's air. But it was aimed at Hayzie. The woman glanced from Kage to Hayzie.
She had stepped out of the mouth of the Tunnel now, into the moonlight. Sealla's smile braudened when she did. But it faded when she realised that Hayzie was absent-mindedly blocking the transformation.
"No," Hayzie uttered in almost like a whisper.
"Hayzie, don't block it. Remember. Keep in your mind that all this transforming is to change you back to your normal human self, before Erikka tore off your hand. Remember that this is for your own good, for you to live another normal human life as your role of Prefecthood over Gryffindore." her words seemed to flow out as if she had been practicing them over and over for weeks on end.

Finally...Kage was a Lycan. It was about freakin' time, too. Xavier had lost count of how many visits Kage had made to the Lycan Tunnels. Xavier watched as Kage turned into the pitch-black Lycan form of himself. Great...another black Lycan.
I'd watch out for yourself, Kage. Now that you're a Lycan, not to mention all-black, I might think that you're Sealla, he kidded.
Xavier frowned as he watched Hayzie trying to resist the change.
No, Hayzie. Stop resisting. Let yourself go. Become who you were destined to become.
All that Hayzie was doing was tiring herself out, making her more vulnerable. The first transformation took a lot of energy out of a person. Hayz was no exception.

You lay a paw on me, you better be planning to have no children.
Kage looked quietly at Hayzie, resorting to one of the only untried persuasive tactics in his repertoire. Putting on the most cute, childish face a Lycan can make, he asked,
Pweeeeese?

Go on, Hayzie… just do it, the blonde girl told herself. She could hear the encouraging words from the other lycans. She knew they were there. They wouldn’t let anything happen to her… would they? Hayz shook her head, of course they wouldn’t. They hadn’t done so in the past, and they had said they would help her. The slight girl opened her eyes once more and looked up to the moon. At that moment, it was hidden behind a few clouds, giving the transformation a momentary break in attempting to succeed. To the blonde, it felt like she was in the Hospital Wing waiting for a flu jab – or for one of the Nurses to stick a needle into her for something else.
Green eyes carefully watched the clouds moving aside. The moon seemed to teasingly poke out at one side, giving a slight glow over the land once more. The turning of her stomach, and the tingling of her limbs started up again. She was a coward – Mary had been right all those months ago in the forest, and now she could see that it was the only thing stopping her. Fear. There were so many reasons for her to go ahead and turn into her wolven form, but the main thing that was going round her head at that moment was the single word: ‘Coward.’ It went round and round, almost like an insulting chant in a primary school playground. There was one she could remember vividly, and the vision clouded out all others in front of her.
A smaller than average blonde girl walked out of her school with a blue coat on and a white bag on her back. It had been raining for at least half an hour before the end of the day, but all the parents were waiting outside, and the teachers couldn’t keep the children from leaving. This blonde girl, was Hayzie herself. She was just running down the path to the main gate when hailstones started pelting down from out of seemingly nowhere. Little Hayzie looked around her, trying to see who else was outside – but they were already running back in, trying to escape the stones. But back inside, there was a chant going on. It was getting louder and louder. Everyone was looking at her and pointing, while chanting: “Hayzie made it hailstone, Hayzie made it hailstone!” Over and over again. Back then, the words had hurt her more than anything, and instead of going back inside, the girl ran towards the front gate and buried her face in her father’s coat. All the way home, and all night, those words went around in her head. Had it been her fault?
Back at the front of the tunnels, Hayzie blinked and broke out of her reverie. The moon was almost fully back out now and she could feel it starting all over again – the feeling getting stronger and stronger. Back then, she had cried and run away from what had happened, even though they were just words. Now, she felt like doing that again. Just run back into the tunnels and shut herself back in the chamber she had been in before. But surely she would be talked back out. That was the only problem she could see. The blonde girl was too easily talked into things, and she would be back outside as soon as you could say Quidditch.
Hayz had taken a few steps back towards the tunnel, but stood still again quickly. She knew this had to be done. If this was done, she could go back to being normal. If she didn’t do it tonight, the Prefect would only have another month to worry about it again. Maybe by then, she would have run away again, like she had done before. She could find somewhere to go, surely… even if she went to try and find Jamie. Squark could help.
But now Hayzie was starting to get tired. Going against it was wearing her out, and the more the slight girl tried to stop the transformation, the more she couldn’t. It was as though it was taking up all of her energy just going against something that would happen naturally sooner or later anyway. For some reason, her eyelids began to feel heavy, and then the last bit of excess energy left her.
Hayzie Marie Roberts was going to accept fate.
Closing her eyes one more, Hayz could see the blinding green light. It was everywhere. She could feel her limbs changing, feel herself shrinking slightly.
And in the blink of an eye, it was over. There was no longer a scared looking blonde girl standing in the place she had been a few seconds ago, but there was instead a sandy blonde wolf in her place. Her green eyes now had slight hints of yellow behind them – small flecks that were barely noticeable. In her eyes, there was a little bit of sadness that she couldn’t hide no matter now much she tried. She had finally done it. Hayz had taken her Lycan form for the first, and probably the last time.
"Can someone take out a hair now?" She sent to no one in particular, hoping that the message would get through to someone at least, no matter how tired and weak the words sounded.

Amelia trotted into the tunnels; her head held high as in her muzzle was a dead pheasant and she was mightly pleased with herself for catching this fine, although quite small, meal.
As she made her way into the clearing she noticed that an unusally large group was gathered; glancing around she noticed that she recognised all of the faces except one new one.
Being her usual 'curious', most would say she is nosey, self she dropped the dead bird to the floor and crept closer, taking a big breath of the new lycan's scent.
HAYZIE?! she cryed out in shock as she recognised the smell, she shook her muzzle in disbelief as she eyed up the sandy blonde colored Lycan.
You...you're...a lycan! this was stating the obvious Amelia knew, but it was somewhat an unusual thing to see; Hayzie the girl who hated being a lycan; being stood in her lycan form...crazy!
Amelia wagged her tail playfully and then licked Hayzie's muzzle in a lycan kiss. Welcome! she said cheerfully...maybe too cheerfully for the situation since she didn't know what was going on...

However no cheerful response came from the sandy blonde Lycan that had been approached. Amelia was being completely friendly with her, and yet Hayzie was being cold and trying to turn her friend away. "It won't last, Amelia. It's a one off." were the cold, yet exhausted, words that came in response. However they were spoken with complete sincerity.
All Hayz wanted to do at that moment was return to the Gryffindor common room, label herself as a coward, and never show her face to the world again. The blonde girl had finally accepted Rikka had bitten her hand off, and that she had, in turn, turned into a Lycan. It's to help you turn back, just remember that. Soon you'll be normal again, and it will all be okay... Hayzie told herself, closing her eyes and looking away from Melly again.

Amelia frowned and sat back on her hind legs. Had she done something wrong? amelia couldn't think what could have upset Hayzie in to being so cold with her.
Hayz... she trailed off halfway through saying the name...she dare not utter it.
Her ears now pinned down to her head as if she was afraid Amelia looked to the other lycan's; hopeful that she would get an explanation....

Instantly feeling bad, Hayzie padded over to where Amelia now sat, hurt once more behind her green and yellow speckled eyes. "Mel, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you like that. But it'll all become clear, okay?" This time, the words were as gentle as they could be under the circumstances, and the sandy blonde lycan's tail hung a little lower.
Turning to face those still in their human form, her wolven face almost pleaded for them to take a few hairs and help her get back to her normal form.

"I have them right here, Hayzie-chan."
Orca crouched behind the golden wolf, a few silky strand of wolf hair caught in his right hand. He ignored the moonlight which shown on him from above, teasing his naked skin with visions of wolfish delight.
He smiled down at the beautiful, newly-turned wolf, and gently stroked behind one sharp, fuzzy ear.
"It's okay, now. You can abandon that form, if you'd like."

Xavier snickered at Kage's comeback, then watched quietly as Hayzie finished her transformation, among her many unpleasant thoughts and feelings. Xavier shook his head slowly.
Why do you hate being a Lycan, Hayzie? Why should you hate what you've become? But...I do not understand the thoughts of someone such as yourself. I cannot stay any longer. Hayzie, best of luck to you. Kage, congradulations. I'll see you all soon.
The orange-eyed Lycan turned promptly and marched back into the darkness of the Tunnels. Why was he so confused?

That was one question Hayzie could answer easily. Why did she hate what she had become? When she had agreed to help with the Lycan war, which had now been resolved, the blonde had never once imagined that she would turn into one of the creatures of the night. She had never imagined that the events of that night would happen. And above all, she had never imagined that she could be feeling so much guilt as she did now. Xavier’s words had hit the Prefect hard. To her now, it seemed that all she was doing by showing her dislike for her secondary form was insulting their way of life, insulting what they were.
Orca stroking behind her ear managed to calm her down slightly, though. It made it all seem okay, as though maybe the world would turn itself right side up again. Hayz turned to face the boy and tried to give him a grateful look. However a look of despair was all that came out. If Hayzie went through with this, is looked like there was a possibility that she would lose so many friends, and that they may want to sever ties with the blonde completely.
“I’m sorry,” Hayzie sent back, not just to Xavier, but to all of the assembled Lycans. Her words filled with nothing but sincerity, and the slightest bit of confusion. Yet, there was now going to be that ever lingering fear of what was going to happen after she had taken the potion. In fact, Hayz didn’t even have the slightest idea if it would work – or what it would do to her. Rikka had said many a time before that there was no going back, and up until her visit to the ministry, the blonde had believed that completely.
Either way, she had done it, and could now cross off yet another ingredient on her list. Now, she was one step closer to going back. But first, she had to figure out just how to turn back into her human form.

The lycan frowned, and hugged the fawn-colored wolf. "Don't feel bad, Hayzie-chan. If you don't feel comfortable as a lycan, then why should you have to be one? I mean..." He looked down, confusion that almost matched the Prefect's own swirling in his silver eyes. "I don't really understand you right now. But... that's okay."
He smiled. "And now, if I'm recieving your thoughts correctly, you would like to return human, no? Just concentrate on yourself, Hayzie, as a human being, without fur and fangs."
Orca sat back and eyed the sandy brown hairs caught in his fist. "You sure do make a pretty wolf, though..."

Concentrate on yourself... That was definately easier than blocking the transformation like she had earlier. Hayzie closed her eyes once more and tried to vision herself as her again. It didn't take long before she was standing upright again. It took an even shorter amount of time for her charm work to come into play as she magicked a pair of jeans and a thick jumper onto her previously naked form.
The blonde girl wrapped her arms around herself. Tiredness had caught up with her quickly. After not sleeping at all in the chamber before, and the energy being drawn from her in her turning, it seemed as though her eyes wouldn't stay open for much longer.
Though while they did, Hayz looked at where Xavier had disappeared off to. Though in the dark of the tunnels, she had completely lost sight of him.
"I don't understand at the moment, either," she whispered in reply to Orca, before looking back to him. "I'm a bad person..."

The raven-haired woman shook her head at Hayzie's last comment. "No you're not. And you know it."
Stepping slowly over to the tired girl, Sealla placed a calming, warm hand on Hayzie's shoulder. "You are one of the kindest, unselfish people I know. You were instantly nice to me when you visited us in the Tunnels that night with Raven-Sky, and you could have chosen to shrug me off and ignore me, like most others do. But you didn't."
Her hands slid around Hayzie. One arm around her waist, one around her shoulders. She hugged Hayzie for seemingly endless moments. "I thank you for that." she whispered.
Once Sealla had let go, she winked to Hayzie, and nodded to all the others of the pack, moreso Morgana. "See you around some time. You'll be Human again before you know it." It seemed like a goodbye. A forever goodbye. But none of them knew anything about the future and what it held for them all.
Seconds after, she turned her back and landed on all fours, slowly padding into the darkness of the Tunnels after Xavier.
