Just then a very large very feathery thing flew out of the sky at Sylph. Most of the people around her ducked out of the way or screamed, but Sylph merely smiled in joy. An enormous osprey landed on her shoulder, something which was quite painful considering the size of his talons. "Ow, Dylan, get off ya daft bugger!" she laughed as she pulled out a large glove from her belt and offering her wrist to the bird. "This is Dylan," she explained to Pika. "Oh, and look, he's got a message." Sylph tugged off the parchment with her free hand and unrolled it. Quickly she scanned the words before crumpling up the paper. "Sorry," she said apologetically. "Looks like I gotta run, somebody wants me back at the castle. I'll catch you later, 'k?" With that she hefted Dylan into the air where he took flight. Sylph grinned at the red haired girl once more and ran off, waving over her shoulder as she did so.

Pika stood there thinking, watching Sylph and Dylan go.
Who did that osprey remind her of again?....Hmmmm.....oh! yes, Killua from the anime Hunter X Hunter! She'd watched it when her grandpa (and master) could get his hands on a TV. Hey, it was hard getting your hands on a TV up in the high mountains!
She shrugged her shoulders and turned to Sunfire, who snapped his beak in the direction of Madam Malkin's shop.
They picked up the robes and Pika stuffed them into the bags of books. Now, all they needed to get was her wand and a few other essential things.
They went to the apothecary to buy potions ingredients and then, visited another shop to buy a pewter cauldron, a set of crystal phials, a telescope, and a few brass scales. They found a shop nearby selling dragon-hide gloves, along with pointed witch hats, and finally, exhausted and weary, Pika and Sunfire sat in the ice cream shoppe, licking (or snapping) at two vanilla-brownie-caramel ice creams.
Once they were finished, Pika checked her list, shifting her position in her seat.
"We only have my wand left now." She glanced over at her owl, "Shall we?" Sunfire flew off, and she laughed, following him to the shop named Ollivanders.

Arriving at Ollivanders, the red-haired girl and her friend stepped into the old shop. The inside smelt of wood, mixes of different woods, and a faint smell of spring wind.
They peered over at the counter, where an old man sat, shuffling a few boxes under his chair. He looked up as Pika stepped on a loose floorboard in the room.
"Ah...yes. You're a MH student. Aren't you? I've got just what you need." He pulled himself out of his chair and scurried over to a ladder set against rows of shelves, full of small rectangular boxes. "Just stand right there and let the tape measure you up."
Pika stood in place as she watched the tape fly over to her. It started measuring her ankle to her knee, her knee to her armpit, armpit to hip, hip to shoulder, shoulder to elbow, shoulder to ankle, and on and on it went. On a table on the counter, there stood a pencil, scribbling back and forth. Most likely writing my measurements down eh? It's amazing! The things that magic can do... She squinted past the tape, which was now measuring between her eyebrows, in the direction of the old man, Mr. Ollivander.
He was pulling a few boxes down. Scurrying over to Pika, he placed the boxes down, opening one of them.
"Alright! Try this one. Willow, Unicorn Hair, 13 inches. Go on! Go on! Wave it about." He exclaimed, trying to be encouraging. Pika took the wand tentatively and took a deep breath. She waved it around. Mr. Ollivander snatched it away saying, "No no. That won't work. You'll poke someone's eye out with that!" He handed another wand to her and she gave it a flick. But he snatched that wand away as well.
After going through a few boxes, Mr. Ollivander ran back to the ladder, mumbling, "Tricky customer we have here...Hmmm...what will we need....what will we ne-aha!" He pulled out a box at the end of the shelf, one that was hidden around a few others. He brought the box over to Pika, setting it down on the counter-top. Pika got a glimpse of the cover before Mr. Ollivander pulled it off. It was a dark-grey box, with years of dust laying on it, waiting for the perfect moment to be waved off to reveal the inside.

Pika stared in wonder as Mr. Ollivander ripped open the cover, revealing a dark ebony-colored wand, nestled in its crib of blue cloth.
"Go on! Pick it up and wave it around. If this one doesn't work on you, I don't know what I'd do. You don't look the type..." He trailed off, studying Pika's facial features in interest, adjusting his small spectacles every now and then. He looked up, straight into Pika's red eyes, "What is your birthday, dear?"
Pika blinked profusely at Mr. Ollivander and answered, "Uh...October 7th..."
"Yes yes...that's what I thought it was. This has to be the one. Go on. Pick it up." he urged her once again.
Pika eyed the box and sighed. Sunfire tapped his talons against the counter, trying to encourage Pika to take the wand. She smiled at him and walked forward. Pika stretched her fingers over the box, ready to pick up the wand when suddenly, the wand engulfed itself in red light. Pika and Sunfire squinted their eyes at the box in shock. Mr. Ollivander looked pleased with himself though.
As the red light faded away, it revealed the wand. This took Pika by surprise. Before the wand had been ebony-colored, but now...it was...and ivory color? She picked it up and studied it. A red light appeared and seemed to burn in a character. Something that strangely looked like the chinese character for 'love'.

"Yes...Rowan wood, 12 and a half inches, dragon heartstring. Hmm...fits you perfectly." Mr. Ollivander smiled mysteriously, "Yes. Now give it a flick!" Pika waved the wand at the box it had come in.
It changed from grey to a sparkling saphire blue.
"Absolutely perfect! Now let me wrap it up for you and then you can go!" Mr Ollivander smiled happily at having sold another wand to a fitting customer. He snatched away the rowan wand and placed it back in the box, which was now saphire.

Pika and Sunfire walked around Diagon Alley, wondering what to do next. Pika unrolled the list of supplies and read down the list. She rolled it up. "Well, Sunfire, I guess that was the last of it. Maybe we should go to Gringott's for more gold. I think I'm running out."
Sunfire clicked his beak at her, showing his distaste for goblins. Pika rolled her eyes, "Sunfire, don't be so biased! I'm sure some of them are good goblins." Sunfire turned around, waggling his tail feathers in her face. Pika sighed and poked him in the back. He jumped about 2 feet in the air and gave a meaningful glare at Pika when he had gotten back down. He would've started screaming into her ear if he wasn't a mute. Unfortunately he was. So all he could do was glare...or he could....
"OUCH! Sunfire!!" Pika glared back at her owl through her red eyes. Sunfire looked smug with himself as he trotted ahead of her on the ground.

Suddenly, a shout came from the right side of Pika. She glanced in the direction of the shout. That was when she noticed the barrels of various potions ingredients toppling over. Right in the direction of Sunfire. He'll be squished to death by those barrels! She thought quickly to herself, watching nervously at the owl who was strutting around, oblivious to the barrels that were tipping over.
Without another thought, Pika raced towards her owl, throwing herself at Sunfire at the last moment. She grabbed him in haste and quickly spinned herself around with the push of her free hand. The barrels hit the exact spot where Sunfire was just walking a second earlier.
Landing on her heels, Pika stared anxiously at the red owl in her hands. "Sunfire? Are you okay?" She looked at her owl with worried eyes. Sunfire's eyes were squinted shut. They opened up slowly, revealing his golden eyes. He glanced nervously about before turning to Pika. Pika smiled warmly. He's okay... In the short time of Diagon Alley, she had grown very fond of Sunfire. She couldn't bear to lose him if he died right then and there. She sighed in relief as he flew to perch on Pika's right shoulder.
She tickled his left ear, "I suppose we're on good terms again." He nipped Pika's ear affectionately and she laughed. "Alright, we won't go to Gringott's then. Let me show you around Magic Horizons. You'll like it there!" Sunfire nodded in glee as they walked down the path to MH.
