Laena entered Diagon alley, and paused for an instant, perfectly petrified. It was so, weird! The shop windows, and the owls, and bats swooping overhead. The shoppers themselves, an old witch with a hat that looked like a wedding cake, and a sleek young wizard wearing the latest trends, among others. How am I ever going to find the wand shop in all this? Laena dispaired. I don't even know what it's called!

Kody strolled lazily through Diagon Alley, swinging her walking stick and looking into store fronts. She knew people were staring at her as she passed. The reason, she was pretty sure, was that she was bedecked fully as Willy Wonka, from the purple jacket to the tall hat. She grinned to herself as she continued strolling. Everyonce in awile she would tip her hat at someone and grin devilishly. She suddenly noticed a girl who looked utterly and comletely lost. She walked over to see if she could help. "Hello, my name is Dakota, or Kody. You look lost. Is there anyway that I could help you?"

A shadowed figure slinked through the crowds lining the streets of Diagon Alley. She slipped into Knockturn Alley and emerged with a a small package under her slender arms. As she turned a corner, a tall man roughly shoved her out of his path, knocking the package from her arms. She dropped to her knees and scooped it back up, angrily glaring at him through scarlet eyes.
"Watch where you're walking you rude man!" She growled, standing back up and turning her back on him. The man pulled his wand from his pocket and pointed it at the Demoness angrily, muttering something under his breath an eruption of white light shot from the tip of his wand and headed straight for the turned back of Mai.
Not a moment passed before the Demoness had thrown the package forward, barely missing the two girls ahead, and spun on her heel to face the spell heading straight for her. She raised her hands furiously, sending the spell back at the man with tremendous force. A sharp crack echoed through the surrounding area as her power whipped the spell to it's rightful owner, a little of her own trickery enveloped inside.
The man flew backwards, into a large crate of dung bombs outside the Diagon Alley joke store. Mai smirked and hissed teasingly at the fearful onlookers, cursing the man irritably under her breath. "Don't piss a Demoness off again m'dear." She yelled, watching the crowd back away in realisation of what the lady in front of them was.
Mai simply rolled her eyes and turned her back on the man, who was trying desperately to rid himself of the horrid stench of dung bombs. The Demoness walked up to the two girls, snatching the package from their feet. She tore it open and picked up two gloves, both made of black lace. She threw the packaging into a nearby bin and slipped the gloves comfortably onto her pale fingers.
Finally she stretched her fingers, testing the malleability of them. She smirked a little, they were expensive but comfortable. She winked at the two girls before her and extended a gloved hand to Dakota. "Mai Le Rosa, thank you for minding these." She chuckled, looking down once again to her hands, the black lace truly fit like a glove.

Laena had been about to answer Kody when the demoness blew the wizard backward into some dung-bombs. The smell reached Laena, and she almost gagged. Almost, becaust the demoness then came over and picked up a package, ripped it open and donned two black gloves which she then admired. They did look good on her, a small part of Laena's brain admitted. The rest of her was too dumbfounded to speak. She finally found a bit of courage. "Y-your welcome, ma'am. I-I don't suppose you'd know where the w-wand shop is?"

Kody nodded to Mai. She then turned to Laena. "Actually, I can help you with that."

Seeing Kody being so calm, helped Laena, and she turned to her with a grateful smile. "Would you? Thanks."

Mai simply chuckled and offered a fairly warm smile at the nervous girl. She tipped her head forward and saluted Dakota shortly, as if tilting forward an invisible hat in mild respect for the girl. She then pointed a thin finger at Kody in an answer to Laena's question and turned to leave. With a twiddle goodbye of her fingers, she walked around the two girls and continued on her way, further down the streets of Diagon Alley.

"Onward we go then!" Kody announced as she started striding down the steet in the direction of Olivanders.

Laena followed after Kody. "This is very kind of you. Thanks again. By the way, I like your outfit."

Kody grinned. "Oh it's my pleasure. And thank you! I wish to tribute Willy Wonka. THough I do wonder why so many people are staring at me....." She chuckled. "Ah well. Aha! Here we are!" Kody pointed her walking stick in the direction of a nearby store. The sighn above the door read Ollivanders. "Why don't you go on in. Mr. Ollivander will help you out. Meanwhile, I'm going to take a look at the hat shop across the way. I'll meet you back here in a little while. Then we can walk around together."

Laena entered the shop. It was sort of dark inside compared to the sunlight on the street. It smelled of beeswax, and a spicy scent she couldn't name. "Hello?" she called. A rustling came from the back of the shop, and soon, a wizened old wizard appeared and peered at Laena out of his startlingly clear eyes. "Ah, yes, its about time you arrived, young lady. You're late, you know." Laena, not knowing what to think, just went along. "Very sor-" "No use apologizing. Now, which hand is your wand hand?" Laena raised her right hand. "Good." He waved his hand, and a roll of measuring tape popped up and began making measurements. Laena listened as the old man, Olivander, she presumed, muttered while he poured over the stacks of boxes. "Hmmm...you're rather shy aren't you? Probably won't finds yours in the dragon heartstring section, then, no. Perhaps, willow? Maybe." Since, he obviously wasn't adressing her, she stopped listening and looked out the fly-specked window. She thought she saw Kody across the street, but the glass was so dark, she couldn't tell. She realized Olivander was waving something in front of her face. "Try this one." Laena took the wand, and almost immediately, Olivander took it back, muttering again. "No, no, definitely not. How about ash? Hmmm..." He dissapeared again, but soon came back with an armload of boxes. "Try these." he said, and held one out. She took it, and he swiped it back. Next one, same result. Next, no. Next one, no. Olivander gave her a puzzled, slightly annoyed look. "I wonder. Well, might as well give it a try." He carried the boxes back, and came back with just one. He opened it and handed her a rather plain little wand of a white color. Laena took it, and immediately felt an electric tingle pass from the wand to her. Olivander grinned in triumph. "Well, that's a pretty thing! You were a dragon heartstring after all! That's ash, nine inches, with dragon heartstring. That one is particularly good for transfiguration, and charms. There's a bit more strength in you, lass, than what can be seen. Now, your parents will receive the bill." Laena looked up from her new wand. "Do you know what their address is?" she asked uncertainly. Olivander gave her a knowing look. "Of course. Now, off you go, and take good care of that wand." Laena left the store, rather dazed from the whole experience. She looked around to see if Kody was there.

Kody stood leaning against a building, chatting with a rather old wizard about werewolves. "I don't care what you and your young friends think! They're a bad lot, all of them!!" the old wizard yelled at her. Kody just grinned lightly back and raised an eyebrow. "Oh, and how many werewolves have you met, my good man?" The old wizard blinked at her before turning red and walking away in a huff, muttering. "Stupid, ignorant kids and their attitudes......Think they're gods, the lot of them...." Kody, still grinning, followed him with her gaze. She muttered lightly under her breath, "Tha's what I thought." "Pleasure talking to you!" she called after him cheerily. The old wizard turned back, stared at her incredulously. She twiddled her fingers at him in return. His fce turned even more sour as he hurried on down the street. Kody then noticed Laena walking out of Ollivander's, looking rather puzzledly at her new wand. "Aha!" she yelled as she pushed herself off the wall and strode towards Laena. "So you got it then?"

Laena smiled. "Yes, indeed. Ash, nine inches, with a core of dragon heartstring. Olivander was surprised by the combination. I want to thank you again for leading me here."

Laena looked up, and spied the Gringotts clock. "Oh, dear! I was supposed to be back at Magic Horizons by now! I'm sorry, I have to get going. See you later!" Laena yelled as she ran towards the exit.
