I'm so terribly bored. was a thought running through Carmy's mind most of the day.
No one was around in her realm, and no students seemed to be visiting. She had to do something to entertain herself. And she had just the thing in mind, a part. A fiesta dedicated to summer.
Smiling happily, the little faery zoomed across a wide open field. Stopping in the middle she began snapping her fingers and muttering spells quickly. Lights swirled, tables and chairs were conjured, music- sweet harps, flutes, and violins- blared from an unknown source.
Soon the large expanse was covered in frilly decorations. One large round table was in the center, violet roses standing in a vase for decoration. Wooden chairs were tucked underneath the table. Enough to sit a handful of fearies and the invited guests.
The guests, she had to invite people. Snapping her fingers again, several scrolls with gold writing hidden inside appeared. Waving her hand she sent them flying out of the realm, they would find people who seemed interesting and fun. People who could hold up their end of a conversation.
Now all she needed was food. Flying in circles over the area, she continued her long litany of spells. Long cherry wood tables appeared, lining the edged of the field, mantels in a variety of colors draped themselves over the tables. And then came the food.
Deserts of all kinds, meat of every source, pastas and breads, fruits and salads. Drinks of all kinds; fruit juices, candy flavored drinks, sodas, butterbeer, and diluted wines (they are minors after all XD). All appeared on their appropriately matching tables.
Nodding in satisfaction, Carmy looked down at her clothing. A frown flittered over her features as she stared at the dusty day dress. It just wouldn't do. Twirling in a fast circle, she waved her hand at clothing. By the time she'd finished spinning her clothes had morphed, changed completely.
Long pink curls were now held up by butterfly shaped clasps. Pink and silver glitter traced the lines of her eyelids, cheekbones, and lips. Her tattered pink wings blended in easily with the silk dress that hugged her figure. Corset, laced with white ribbons, silk gloves and all. Low heeled strappy sandals finished the ensemble.
Flying down to the center table, she stared out over what was now the dance floor. Sitting down on the edge of the table, she swung her legs and waited for her guests.
{ooc:} All fearies (nymphs and sprites, too) are invited! Those who are not residents of the realm must have received an invitation to post. If you really want to join, pm me and I'll consider it. XDXP

It didn't take long for a guest to show up. She entered into the Faerie Realm, her eyes wide in interest and a touch of childlike innocence. The scroll invitation clutched gently between her fingertips.
She made her way down the field, her plain, dark blue dress flowing with her. The place was so pretty she mostly forgot to be cold. She was even wearing sandals. Her logic, if she didn't think about frozen limbs, she wouldn't get frozen limbs. She spun in a slow circle, her lips flinching up into a meek smile at the music. And so many frills...
Then, seeing someone leaning on a table, Lynette gathered up courage and strode over to her, her carefully curled red hair swinging with every step she took.
"Hello," she called cautiously when she got close enough. "This is lovely."

When Forgoil arrived in the Faerie Realm for the celebration, he hoped that Carmella wouldn't mind his attire. He never had casual clothing, only non casual and dress. And seeing that this was a party, Forgoil arrived in dress. His attire was of that of a British officer, save that it was a black uniform with golden braid rather than the traditional red.
He calmly walked in, holding the scroll in his hand and saw that Carmella had invited Lynette to the party as well.
Taking a seat and listening to the music, Forgoil Halifirien waited for the other guests to arrive.

There was a visible tremor throughout the girl's entire body as she entered the faerie realm. Vivian was rendered almost unrecognizable by the way she had dressed herself. She was clad in a simple, light blue silk dress, one that matched her eyes in a much softer, lighter hue, and contrasted sharply with her hair, that was upswept carefully, pulling the hair irreversably out of her face, that was, unless she for some reason decided to take the locks of the clasps and pins that held them in place. What was exposed, beyond the skin of her arms and calves, was a very obvious, inherited beauty that she usually meticulously covered.
In one tightly clenched, white knuckled hand, a scroll was slightly crushed by the force of her nervousness. She stopped at the edge of the gathering, away from the tables for a moment, taking deep breaths and gathering her composure to greet the people that had already arrived. Viv had done this before... She was born and bred of rich pureblood socialites. However, her deviation from her genetics was very apparent by her rigid stance, unblinking eyes, and teeth that never seemed to stop gnawing on her lower lip.
Her eyes scanned about the surroundings, searching carefully for the little faerie she'd met in the astronomy tower. When she finally located her, she took the most confident strides she could, only to find her in the company of another whom she didn't recognize.
However, somehow, Vivian found the courage to approach despite her first greeter, and she smiled just slightly, waving in a motion that was far from fluid, but in contrast, very unsure and jerky. She opened her mouth to speak, hesitated, and then managed to find some trace of courage.
"H-h-hello C-Carmy..." she squeaked, just barely above a whisper. She glanced down at her feet, clad in flat blue sandals, her fingers fiddling nervously with the fabric of her skirt. What she wouldn't give for an invisibility cloak right now...

Elorra stopped just off the edge of the forest, in front of her was the fiesta. Looking down to her left and right, Elorra placed a hand on both of her dogs, Lincoln and Midnight, a collie and newfoundland. It had been awhile since she had set foot in the realm, she woundered how the other fairies would react to her, expesially if they were smaller than her, the only person she was use to her that was smaller than her was Ainala, and she hadn't seen her sprite friend in a long time.
Looking up straight, Elorra took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. Opening her huge light purple wings, Elorra walked out into the clearing and into the fiesta, her outfit now visible. Elorra was wearing a light purple dress that had a light blue shimmer to it, it sat off the sholders and the sleeves spaned out at the bottem making it look very medieval. A slight jingle was heard from Elorra's right ankle for she had two gold bangles on it causing them to jingle as she walked. Her hair that was normally striaght was out and had soft curls through out it. If it wasn't for her huge light purple wings, anyone looking at Elorra would have thought she was a normal person with delicated pointed ears.
Smiling softly Elorra suddenly felt out of place her with her two dogs, and began to dout weather her fairy kin would accept her, for she hardly came here anymore.

The arrival of the next guest at Carmella's little fiesta came as a stark contrast to the quiet, and mostly timid entrances of those who had showed up thus far. Seemingly out of nowhere, something moving fast enough that it first appeared as nothing other than a streak of blue, hardly visible against an already blue sky. It was most distinguishible by the fact that it was giggling, a high, tinkling laugh that sounded as chimes in the quiet. The blur stopped abruptly, hovering at the midpoint of a well-decorated table, the one where the only guests so far had gathered, and finally resolved into a recognizable shape. Not that anyone here was likely to recognize her; it had been a while since she'd last been around. Poised not more than a foot above the table, gossamer wings beating so enthusiastically that they were almost invisible, was the diminutive figure of the Faerie Realm's only resident water sprite. Her full height came to a grand total of about ten inches, topped by a crown of long, wheat blonde hair mottled through with sapphire streaks. She had left her blonde-and-blue tresses to tumble freely about her shoulders as always, but in honour of the occasion she had artistically threaded them through with seashells, ribbons, pearls, and all other manner of glittering baubles. Though her usual attire would have likely been quite suitable for this event, she had donned something that was definitely a little different. Instead of her usual strapless seafoam blouse and tye-dye pants, a dress that seemed to shimmer through all of the lighter shades of blue and white was draped over her lithe figure. It was hard to ascertain just what fabric the raiment was; obviously a little magic had gone into its making, for it resembled nothing so much as it did a shifting cloud of mist, which managed to swirl around her form without seeming quite opaque, and yet concealing everything that needed to be concealed. The hem fell unevenly about her bare ankles and that just managed to incease the impression that she was clad in the essence of a tumbling, white-capped wave. The dress was cinched at the waist with a simple cord of braided ivory, and though her dress was sleeveless, falls of the same material covered her arms from the elbows down, long enough to conceal her fine-bone hands. Each was held in place by a matched bracelet of seashells. Plain ivory sandals on her feet completed the outfit. The blue-eyed sprite gave those gathered already a big grin. "Hii! I don't know any of you, but that's okay. I'm Ainala OceanCrest, I'm a water sprite!" She spun around full circle in a graceful, airborne pirhouette. As she did, her eyes lighted on another someone just arriving, a faerie whom Ainala was definitely acquainted with. "But I do know you!" she cried, triumph in her voice as if coming across Elorra here had been some kind of personal accomplishment. Her whole face alight with excitement, Ainala jetted over to wherre Elorra was and, perching upon a shoulder, threw her arms as far around Elorra's neck in a hug as they could go. "Hii! How are you, 'Lorra? Long time no see. I like your dogs, they won't eat me, will they?" The stream of words flowed practically unconsciously, with Ainala giggling delightedly as she uttered them. OOC: for anyone wondering about the mod, I was too lazy to log back in as Ainala to fix my post

Elorra let out a laugh that sounded like soft chimming bells, as Ainala jetted over to her and hugged her around her neck "Ainala!" cried Elorra softly "So good to see you my fine little friend" siad Elorra and letting out another laugh at Ainala's question about Lincoln and Midnight "No they wont eat you" laughed Elorra "What have you been up to anyway?"

Warm eyes strayed to her first guest, a wide smile curling her lips. Nodding, she answered "Thank you. I'm Carmella, your Hostess."
The little faery studied the other girl's attire, thinking she looked very nice with the dark blue contrasting against the redish-brown of her hair. While still looking at her, Carmy noticed movement out of the corner of her eye. Turning her head slightly she spotted Forgoil, her smile widening at his formal dress attire.
"Hiya Forgoil. How've you been?" she called out.
Then the real surprise came to her. Vivian was walking towards her, the scroll clenched in a white-knuckle grip. She hadn't thought the shy red-head would want to come, but was happy that she'd gathered enough courage to make an appearance. As Viv-y finally made it to her to say hello, Carmy flew up.
"You look pretty." she said, tugging gently on a lock of hair from her new position on the girl's nose "I'm glad you could make it."
She was still tugging gently on strands of her red hair when she spotted another guest behind her, walking towards the center table. But this guest had wings! Twirling gently while still keeping her perch on Viv's nose, she spotted another winged guest at the table. One of them was tall, almost completely human-like, while the other was small like her (granted not nearly as small as her).
"Glad to hear my guests won't be eaten." she called out with a mile-wide smile "I'm Carmella by the way, your hostess. Glad you could join us."
ooc: Sorry for the crap-ta-licious post. It's like barely 5 am here.. Not an excuse, but a reason. ^^

Post by Hikalyn Sarello on Jun 30, 2005 9:35:17 GMT
This was the second invititation she'd received to an event in about as many days, but despite that fact the second one had surprised her almost as much as the first, perhaps more. She didn't think invites to the Faerie Realm were a usual thing--certainly she'd never been there before--and although she remembered meeting Carmella before, it had been but briefly, in Hogsmeade following their loss to the Gryffindors. Still, that certainly didn't mean she didn't appreciate the invite.
So now she approached the Faerie Realm at a relaxed walk, the parchment containing the invitation held loosely in one hand. As it had specified semi-formal dress, Kalyn had come clad accordingly, a rare thing for the raven-haired girl who was usually quite content to in comfortably-fitting jeans and a T-shirt.
She was garbed in a simple black dress, strapless and of modern cut, the hem of which fell past her knees without making it all the way down to her ankles. Though the dress itself was made of cotton, it was trimmed at hem and neckline with deep green velvet, and a slit in the side that traveled a short way up her leg was edged with the same jade cloth. Plain black slippers sheathed her feet, and her hair was pulled back from her way with a pair of malachite combs. She wore no jewelry, save a finely cut crystal dangling from a silver chain. An odd adornment, maybe; but there was more significance to that little gem than most anyone here would realize. A gift, and a reminder.
Hikalyn cast her glance around those already gathered. She didn't know any of the students, but she recognized all the faeries in attendance. She could see Elorra, clad in purple, and offered her friend a smile and a wave. She also thought she remembered the small figure that had wrapped itself around Elorra's neck; she had only met Ainala once or twice, a ways back, but was hard to forget such enthusiastic ebullience.
And there was Carmella, of course. Kalyn nodded towards the faerie and carefully picked her way through the tables and chairs to meet up with the event's hostess.

Vivian's face flushed almost as red as her hair at Carmella's compliment. Her blue eye's crossed as she watched the faerie that was now perched on her nose and tugging on a lock of hair.
"Th-thank y-you..." Vivian whispered, watching the other guests as they arrived. She wasn't acquainted with either of them, but at first impression, they seemed very outgoing, to an almost frightening extent if you were Viv. A hug was enough to send Viv into a panic at times, but at the moment, she was far too concerned with the unfamiliar setting and her deviation from her typical dress to really think too much on it. Simply, she decided that Ainala and Elorra seemed nice.
Viv recognized Hikalyn as the Head Girl as she made her way towards Carmella, and thus her. She watched around the faerie, smiling nervously, seeming to hide in plain sight, as she was at the moment less of a guest and more of a pedestal. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other carefully, not wanting to sway unnecessarily as any motion on Viv's part could potentially disturb Carmy's balance.
Her mouth opened half heartedly, as she started to say hello but faltered. Instead, she flicked her hand in a minuscule wave, one that was almost indistinguishable from a small twitch, and focused on something far away.

"Well, thank you for inviting me," Lynette murmured courteously, sliding away as more people came to greet their hostess. She looked up at the clear sky, then back down at the other guests. One girl specifically looked to be much more a nervous wreck then she. Oddly, this was comforting.
She slipped into the seat beside Forgoil, tugging on the bottom of her dress slightly. "Hello, Mr. Halifirien." She nodded graciously at the boy.

Seeing that a good number of guests had arrived, Forgoil started to stand, but Lynette walked over to him. Forgoil bowed, saying."Why hello Miss Pearlcombe; what a pleasant surprise to see you again." Smiling, Forgoil turned to look at all the other guests and then it became clear; there were no other boys.
Taking his seat once more, he whispered into Lynette's ear,"Is it just me or am I the only boy here?"

Lynette craned her neck and glanced around. She gave Forgoil an odd look, then shrugged one shoulder.
"So far, it looks like." She said conversationally. "You nervous we're going to auction you off or something?" She teased mildly, cupping her chin in her hand and closing her eyes. It's rather warm here, she found herself thinking.

Nervous about her joke of being auctioned off, Forgoil stammered,"No...not at all. I was just curious." Looking around the fiesta, Forgoil saw several nypmhs and sprites had come; more girls. The more he looked around. the more concerned he became. "Why would you want to auction me off?" asked Forgoil.

Lynette looked sideways at Forgoil, an eyebrow lifted teasingly. She knocked shoulders with him gently before clasping her hands together and leaning them on her knees thoughtfully.
"I mean it, relax. Even I am relaxing. It was a joke, Halifirien." She smiled.
