"Lonely?" Riordan's eyebrow nearly disappeared into her hair. "Well, it sure has a great way of finding friends." Looking down at her feet, she focused completely on merely walking around the graveyard. Each foot peeled itself from the ground easily. As soon as she was free, she began to pace. The air around her seemed to stir at the movement, but she took no notice. Well, they could move now. But they couldn't leave.
"What lives out here, that could possibly be lonely? The vampires and lycans have their own places to roam with friends, and hardly any of the creatures in the forest have many magical abilities. Right?" She was rambling, she knew, but it kept her thinking. Now mobile feet flattened the soft dirt as she paced. The more she thought about it, the more plausible Sylph's theory became.

Sylph looked up at Riordan who was pacing. She frowned to herself, trying to think clearly. "There are other things in the forest," she began, "faeries and nymphs and centaurs and unicorns..." she trailed off. "But I can't think what any of them would be doing in the graveyard. Maybe it's a spirit or something, a ghost that's still tied to the grave..."
She bit her lip and frowned again.

Gen stood up and looked deeper into the graveyard. Although she was glad to be free to go back to the castle part of her wanted to go on. She looked back at the others and realized that they just might not want to go on. Still Gen had heard a voice. The voice hadn’t come from any of them and despite the fact that she was breaking a lot of the Hogwarts rules she still wanted to go on and look for the voice.
“I think I’m going to continue on…” Gen told the others and she started to walk then stopped, “Do you think I should walk in further?”[/i]

Sylph glanced up from her frowning. She really wanted to figure this whole situation out, and she wasn't going to do that stood around here. Well? she thought to herself. Are you a gryffindor or aren't you? She made up her mind in an instant.
"Depends what you want to find," she replied, flashing a devil-may-care grin in Gen's direction, making it clear that she was game. Then she paused. "Err, what is it that you're actually trying to find, exactly?"

"Whatever called us here in the first place." Riordan stopped pacing. The castle loomed over them, not so inviting anymore in the darkness. The graveyard, surrounded by fellow students, seemed infinatly more safe. You're going insane, Riordan. Why should they stay here? It was the dead of night, the graveyard, and it was cold! But as she looked out at the misty graves, an urge stronger than anything pulled at her.
That whisper. Gen had heard it. Dez had heard it. She had heard it. What about Sylph? "We're looking for a whisper. That's why we were all gathered out here." Her voice was steady. "What about you?"

ooc: Sorry for posting so late! Sunday rituals have to be followed. ic: Dez looked to Sylph when Riordan had asked her why she had been outside. Once the other girls had figured out that wanting to leave the graveyard caused you to be stuck where you stood, she had forced herself to say how much she just wanted to move about and look at the gravestones. After all, they were so peaceful. Out loud that is what she said, but inside she was still uneasy. She had wondered immediately how they were to leave the graveyard. They may be free to move, but they were not free to re-enter the castle. Dez had decided she would simply listen to the other girls ideas, knowing someone would eventually come up with a plan, and she began to move towards Gen. As she was walking towards her, she realized that she had another feeling eating away at her. She was still curious about that mysterious whisper that all three Slytherins had heard. Though she wished to be back in bed, she certainly wouldn't be able to sleep once she was within its feathery confines. She had to know what that was, be it friend, foe or something simply unknown. Gen had just said that she was going on. Dez knew right then, that she would go too no matter what the consequence. She just prayed she wouldn't be expelled. "I am going too go along with Gen." Dez voiced confidently. "I hope that we will not go alone. Sylph, thank you for not abandoning us, but since you are already involved, why not stick it out? Riordan, I have known you for only a short while, but I doubt if that adventurous spirit wishes to simply walk back inside the castle and never imagine what mystery lies deeper within. I hope you two will join us, but with or without anyone I know I must find out what has chosen to call to us." Saying this, Dez looked from Riordan to Sylph, eyebrow cocked, and arms folded across her chest waiting on their answers.

Sylph stared back definantly, her peridot eyes twinkling in the darkness.
"Of course I'm going" she replied to Dez's questioning look. "Though I haven't heard any whisper since I arrived, aside from yours of course. But there's something strange at work here, and I won't be able to rest easy until I find out what it is. Besides, it'll be an adventure!" Sylph paused a moment.
"So, what did this whisper that brought you here say exactly?"

Riordan heard the challenge in Dez's voice. Already she knew that she'd have gone no matter what, the prospect of an adventure too great to pass up, but the silent question the girls' voice only made her more eager. Her face split into a charming grin. "Do you really think I'd give up the chance to do something that might get me expelled? What kind of Slytherin do I look like?" She laughed softly. "The whisper....I heard when I was in the forest. It was sort of a sighing sound, like the way someone sounds when they're sad. Or lonely." She paused, considering her own words. Although no one could see in the darkness, her indigo eyes darkened. Adrenaline began to pump through her bloodstream, causing a familiar giddy carelessness that had gotten her into plently of trouble back home.
There was no doubt in her mind any longer that there was something out there. The whisper heard by all three girls was too much of a coincidence. And the fact that they could walk around the graveyard, but not leave certainly meant something was going on that they had no power over. At the moment, that is.

Sylph was glad that she was with three such adventurous people, she couldn't wait to find out what was behind all this, her inquisitive nature knew no bounds it seemed.
Curiousity killed the cat, a voice in her head reminded her. You might not like what you find. Sylph smothered a derisive snort. Then at least I'll know the truth she snapped back at the voice.
She strode forward into the darkness, waiting for the others to follow her. She was the only gryffindor here, she was not going to be out-done on bravery. Pulling out her wand she muttered 'lumos', paused a moment, and turned back.
"Well," she said, a hint of humour, and challenge, in her voice, "what are you waiting for?"

Dez smiled widely, cocking her right eyebrow and her brown eyes sparkled even in this dark. She hurried to Sylph's side, pulling out her long wand, and uttering "Lumos" as well as light burst from the end of her treasured object. Pushing her long hair out of her eyes she winked at the two Slytherin girls and waved her hand indicating for them to come up with her. "I'm ready ladies. Let's find out what's going on!" She was nervous and excited at the same time. This would be quite interesting. She wrapped her free arm around her waist and breathed deeply. *Here goes everything...*

Since Riordan's wand was already glowing faintly at the tip, she merely walked silently to Dez's side. Her chin was held high, and her stride held a confident sway.
"Just in case I forget to say it later... this was an awesome night." Grinning, she brushed the front of her waist-length hair behind her ears, and looked expectantly at Gen.

With everyone else on board Gen nodded and said confidently, “Well let’s go on shall we?” She lit her wand with a quick lumos and then she started into the Graveyard.[/i]

Sylph waited for all the others to reach her. It didn't take long; everybody it seemed had, like her, made up their minds to continue, and very little would sway that now. She walked side-by-side with Gen, turning her head constantly, her eyes straining the shadows for the slighest movement. Her ears were pricked too - actually, she was more relying on her hearing than anything - it was far and away her sharpest sense. But for now there was nothing.
OOC: hey, Gen, have you decided what's out there and where this is going? Might help with the RP-ing

((OOC-Sorry about that!))
Gen caught up with Sylph and then the group kept walking on. The sky was now much darker now. In fact if it weren't for the fact that Gen stopped to light her wand she wouldn't have been able to see more than a few feet in front of her.
Gen walked for awhile then she noticed a thick grayish fog starting to close in on the group of girls. Then she heard a voice, "Keep walking..." Gen looked at the other girls, "Did you hear that?"[/I]

Sylph felt herself shiver as the fog closed in around them; not through cold, but through something else, a certain anticipation perhaps. Her green eyes narrowed as she scanned the shadows. Then, unmistakable to her ears, was a voice.
Keep walking...
Sylph felt Gen jump slightly at her elbow as she asked if anyone had heard that. Sylph nodded grimly, but didn't reply, instead raising her lit wand to try and pierce the gathering fog. What spoke? she thought. Show yourself...
