Daemon had come down from the castle bundled for a day of skating on the frozen surface of the Lake. He'd sent a letter to Persephone asking her if she'd like to go skating with him, and she'd said yes. Still, he'd hoped that some of their friends might also come down. It would be nice to have a whole bunch of them on the ice at the same time.
He pulled the pair of skates off his shoulder and sat down on the frozen shore of the Lake. It was a nice day, cold but not the coldest they'd had, and there was the chance of snow in the clouds. It would make the scene of skating with his friends into something from a Christmas special, or holdiay card.
He pulled the skates on and headed out to the ice. His violet eyes scanned the area for traces of people he might know. He hoped again that his friends would come out along with a few of Seph's. And he was quickly learning that his friends also knew or were friends with Persephone.

Kiara sat under a large oak settled not all too far from the frozen lake. As she had told him, her favorite place was to sit next to the lake and simply reflect on things, and as such, here she was, sitting and reflecting on things in her busy mind.
She didn’t notice him at first, it wasn’t until he had actually gotten out onto the ice that her ice-blue orbs caught a glimpse of him and she let that would-be grin turn up the corner of her lips, perhaps brightening the otherwise darkened look she usually had.
Kiara watched him skate and wondered why she hadn’t thought to bring her skates down, she loved to skate, but then, she often didn’t do so much as she loved these days and so, she simply waved at him as he skated past.

Kira hadn't skated in what seemed like forever. She had never been that good at it, had simply made wobbling revolutions around the edge of the rink near her home, but she had always enjoyed the activity. True, she usually spent nearly as much time on her butt as on her feet, but it was still enjoyable. She had been ecstatic to learn that the lake was frozen over, the cold cover thick enough to support the weight of students. It hadn't taken long at all to scrounge up a pair of skates (there were plenty of people willing to lend her theirs) and to bundle into her warm coat. A purple hat was pulled low over her ears and a striped pair of mittens encased her hands.
Walking down to the lake, she whistled happily, swinging the skates in her left hand in a carefree manner. The Speaking Cane in her right hand remained silent, its assistance currently unneeded. She hummed merrily, the song switching every few bars to a new Christmas carol. Soon, she was at the edge of the lake, searching out a place to pull on her skates. She soon settled onto a rock, fingers quickly lacing up the borrowed skates. A sharp tug on the laces and a double-knotted bow later and she was ready to go.
Ankles wobbled and legs shook as she stepped onto the ice, but she somehow managed to stay upright- at least for the moment. She set off at a slow place, walking more than skating, and managed a small circle. Just as she was congratulating herself on her accomplishment, however, the blade of her right skate caught in a slight dip, sending her sprawling across the smooth surface of the lake. A soft laugh spread out across the ice, quickly growing in volume, until tears of mirth formed in her eyes. Several minutes later, she pushed herself up from the ice, still giggling, and set off once more.
((Ditto for Kiara's comment- I'll delete if you like))

ooc: It's ok with me! The more the merrier, and it should be ok with Daemon...
bic:
Persephone walked happily down from the castle. Her long hair was half pulled back so that she wouldn't be distracted, and so that she could see, while she skated. Her cloak wasn't full length and ended at her knee so that it wouldn't get caught in her skates. She wore a blue scarf around her neck to protect it from the cold, and blue gloves were over her hands.
As she got closer to the lake she saw Daemon and Kira. It was nice to see Kira after such a long time. She'd really missed her friend, and she wanted talk to her. Then she looked over and saw another girl, who apparently knew Daemon. She shrugged glad to see other people down there, and all of them getting along and having a good time.
When she finally was at the shore of the Lake, she pulled off her shoes and pulled on her skates hoping to keep her feet uncovered for the shortest amount of time. She didn't really want to try to skate with numb feet, and she felt like feeling her toes.
"Hey guys!"
She said as she skated over to where Kira had fallen. She didn't seem to be hurt, but she still wanted to offer her a hand up. And she did, knowing fully what tended to happen when you tried to help people up on ice.

((ooc: By all means, it's fine with me!))
Daemon skated a little further when he noticed Kiara sitting by the shore of the Lake. She seemed to be deep in thought, and he was hesitant about pulling her away from her reverie, but when she waved at him, he headed over towards her.
"What's up?"
Just as he asked the question another girl came out to the ice, she seemed to enjoy skating, but her foot work wasn't the best. Still, even when she fell, she smiled and gigled. After her came Persephone, and she seemed to know the girl that had fallen, and even bent to help her up.
Turning back to face Kiara, he decided to ask her to join him and his other friends on the ice.
"Care to skate with us?" he said gesturing at the people around him.

Krista trudged through the snowy grounds towards the lake, where many kids were gliding over the smooth, glossy ice surface, yelling and whistling in the cold air in excitement. Her ice skates were slung over her shoulder, ready to get back into use.
She walked the remainder of the way watching the students skate, falling and spinning around, enjoying themselves. Krista recognized Persephone, a 5th year Ravenclaw whom she had met once before.
Krista sat down on the edge of the lake and began tying her skates tightly around her feet. Once each was laced, she stood up, a little wobbly at first. She hadn't skated in over a year.
She skated shakily toward the group, which consisted of Persephone, Sephe's boyfriend Daemon, and two other girls. She stopped right next to the gathering of the kids.
"Alright if I skate with you guys also?" she said, ntocing how the other girls had asked before joining. She stood, not wanting to intrude thier group outing.

Kiara tilted her head to the side, as he turned to witness the others folly on the ice, and there may have even been a slight semblance of a smile, when he had made an offer to join the rest of them. “Ok, I think I will.” She replied and then stood, drew her wand and waved it once. “Accio Skates.” She near whispered, and then waited a few moments before she noticed in the distance a white speck headed her way. “I’ll be out there on just a few moments.” She told him, not wanting to keep him from his other friends.
Kiara was as happy as she’d get at the moment, she actually had made a new friend this year, and by the looks of things, perhaps there was room to make some more. It seemed, her new friend Daemon knew a few of these new faces.
Finally her skates made it to her outstretched hand, and she quickly removed her snow-boots and replaced them with the skates and then hopped up and made the remaining foot to the ice. Once on the ice, she seemed to sail across it as high speed before giving a little jump and spin. Oh how she loved to skate, this was perhaps one of the only things she liked to do more than swim. She didn’t fly, hated heights, for reasons only she would know, and as for any other sport, she tended to stay away from them, too much contact. She then made a few circles only to come to a sideways halt next to Daemon. “Hi.” She said, looking about at the others now on the ice.

Persephone heard Krista's voice and smiled. She'd met the other Slytherin girl up at the Astronomy tower and had her in a few classes. They'd talked, and they'd gotten along pretty well. Persephone already considered the other girl to be a friend, and was glad when she joined their group.
"Hey Krista. And I don't mind one bit if you join us!"
She grinned happily to Krista and the light in her eyes was a fire that could light the darkest of nights. She seemed to radiat with light, thought that was humanly impossible. Still, you could almost swear she was...
When another girl joined her group, Persephone smiled at her. She wasn't a Ravenclaw and she really didn't have a clue who this other was. Daemon must have though, and she didn't mind having her join them. Though she knew that it would be a good thing to ask this other her name.
"Hi, I'm Persephone, or as most people call me, Sephe." She offered a hand to the other.

Kiara didn’t know a soul out on the ice, save for Daemon but was willing to get to know each of them and was pleased that she might actually be welcome. She received the others hand and inclined her head as she introduced herself. “Hi, Kiara, Kiara Malfoy, pleased to meet you.” She returned, as per her usual greeting.
Kiara was, as always, polite; it never did one any good not to be. She shook the other girls hand and then let her own fall back to her side and offered a slim smile. Though yes, it was slim, at least it was genuine and more perhaps than was her norm.
She then looked around at the other girls noting each ones abilities on the ice and the way they all seemed to know one another. This interested her, as she had never really hung around a larger group than perhaps three at a time, unless there was trouble, of course. To be surrounded now by the warm feelings she felt from each was different, not to say a bit overwhelming, though she would get used to it, she was certain.

Sephe's arrival on the lake brought a joyous squeal from Kira, who hadn't bumped into the Ravenclaw girl in quite some time.
"Sephe!" she called out over the frozen surface of the lake. "How are you?"
A wide grin plastered itself on her face, her cheeks rosy from the cold air. She moved in the direction of Sephe's voice only to be sent sprawling across the ice once more. The sense of someone close by brought the realization that Persephone was standing above her, probably offering her a hand up. She gratefully accpeted the proffered limb, swiping at empty air for a few moments before making contact. Mindful not to pull her rescuer down to the ice with her, she stood carefully, reaching down to brush several flakes of ice from her pants once she was rebalanced on her feet.
"This is fun!" she remarked after a moment, still grinning from ear to ear. Starting off once more, she started another trek around the edge.
((Sorry for the delay. Oh and Sephe, was that an invitation *points to initial post*. I was quite tempted to take you up on it, whether it was or not. It would have been far more amusing to have two sitting on the ice!))

Daemon watched as Kiara came over to the group, and Persephone helped up a friend. And then there was a greeting exchanged between Persephone and Kiara. He was glad that it went over well. He didn't want to think of how things would be if his girlfriend and his friends didn't get along.
He then watched as the rest seemed to look around at eachother. He didn't know everyone here, and he was certain that the only one that was close to knowing everyone, was Persephone. That meant the best ideas was to do a group greeting to them all.
"Seeing as we don't know eachother, well not all of us, let's all say our names and everything. I'll start. I'm Daemon..."
He smiled slightly, and looked up to see as small smile on Kiara's face. At least she was smiling, and that was a good thing. Then he turned to look at the others. Who would go next?

Kiara looked around, and when she realized that no one else was standing forward to say a thing, she took a deep breath, letting the air out of her lungs slowly. “Good idea Daemon.” She said and then looked about the small, or rather slowly growing group of friends.
“I’m Kiara, pleased to meet.. All of you.” She stated in a rather friendly voice, perhaps the friendliest Daemon had heard come out of her since their meeting in the common room. Not to mention, that this time, it was a genuinely happy voice, not forced, as it would have otherwise been. She had put away her thoughts, her musings and had decided to join this growing circle, it was her choice not one being made for her and that, was indeed something she did have to be happy about.

ooc: I was trying to think of something funny. lol, so i guess it was a kind of invitation. ^_^ Got to admit it would have been fun to write about it, Kira! ;D
bic:
Persephone agreed with Daemon and Kiara. Introductions were a good idea. At least this way none of them would feel stupid or out of place having to introduce themselves to the others. She smiled slighty at that thought. Knowing her friends, they would have yelled out their names one way or another.
"I'm Persephone!"
She grinned at the others and waited for them to follow suit. Her smile was light and carefree, and the emerald of her eyes wasn't so deep and dark. She seemed to be made of pure light today.

Krista skated around in a circle and spun around. "I'm Krista," she added, throwing in a bright smile which was usually replaced by a smirk. But today she was happy. Christmas was almost here and she wa svery excited.
She skated around in a circle, and stopped abrubtly, spraying snow all over Persephone. "Oops," she said innocently.

The snow hit Persephone, but she didn't really mind. She was in too good of a mood to let snow let her down. She just brushed the snow off and smiled up to Krista. If she hadn't known the other girl, she might have been more upset, but she really wasn't.
"No prob!"
But she kept an eye on Krista. There was always that chance they'd get close enough to the shore to start a snowball fight...
