(ooc: I'd love for this thread to continue, only we need the others to do so as well. I can't really respond again as Rezna, but I'm here and waiting.*shakes Dante forcefully*)

ooc: I'm waiting for something for my character to reply to. I feel a bit like an optional extra in this thread the way it's been going. *shrugs* I'm wondering if Dante is going to reply, or if Mai will. Nothing has occurred which requires me to reply.

OOC: Sorry all, I got a bit swamped down with homework and theater crew this week and forgot to give you guys the heads up. Also, side note - the demons and angels that are flashing in and out aren't because he hung himself...
EDIT: The reason I didn't/haven't replied yet is because I can't really respond to anything that's happened since I posted last. I'm waiting for Mai or someone to reply. I'd have a great deal of trouble starting from static so to speak.

ooc: I'm going to try and move this thread again. please note that I did say try.
bic:
The dead girl ignored the black shadows and almost heard whispers. They weren't her business, not much was really.
"Death treats me much the way I treat it, Dante. I'm well for a ghost, if that's what you mean." She replied to Dante's teasing question.
Rezna trying to out-stare Mai. That was really very hard, the girl had tried that once, with the added dificulty of being upside-down at the time. This really could be interesting to watch.
If anything were interesting anymore.
Her hand was still extended to Dante, though her bright green eyes watched everything, her alertness masked by her dreamy relaxed-ness of everything that was happening around her.

{ooc}: I'm so sorry. I can't help feeling I held this thread up, but I'm willing to revive it too.
{bic}: The crux of manipulation in the sweet crook of her fingers relaxed further as the blonde child craned her neck and avoided Mai's touch - much to the demoness' pity. With a tilt of her head she smiled a delicate smile at Rezna and took it upon herself to glance sideways at the movement the student made next, clearly for her wand.
Mai's smile disappeared and her eyes flashed a cold silver, a warning, for although the demoness couldn't be sure it was a wand, she never did like those things, and she was quite open with letting the girl know it. Her cream tresses swam forward by her cheeks as she glanced down, then met the girl's gaze again with her own heated scarlet.
She shifted her weight to her left hip and thigh, then balanced on her arched ankle and poised her right boot forward to tie the lace tighter. The snakelike material curled around her fingers, and she let them swell as she pulled, cutting circulation near the joints in her fingers for only a moment, before bowing the lace neatly.
Placing her heels back beside each other, the demoness pressed her hands on her thighs and pushed herself to rise. A good six feet or so she stood, timidly gazing past her thick curtain of ivory to nod a quaint nod at Dante when he commented on the evening. Shifting her intent stare to Kezaa, she smirked lightly before adjusting the weight of her heels and preparing to approach him.
Suddenly she froze, and her hot irises dissolved back into that ice-cold silver, she glanced through smokey lashes at Dante, narrowing the sills of her eyes to study him. A faint jut of concern could be noted in the tension that appeared along her jawline, then her eyes fell closed and her hands clenched. Peeking down at Rezna through a minute gap between her eyelashes, almost as if to say 'don't move', Mai's enormous ebony-black wings erupted from her shoulder blades with a loud whoosh.
She inhaled sharply, feeling them push through something colder than the temperature of her irises, and she arched them high above her and spun around, spreading them wide infront of Rezna. Protecting her? A hiss left the mouth of the demoness and she clutched her stomach subtly, only bending slightly, trying to mask the pain that had just sifted through her with a glare to the shadowed figure slowly dissipating into nothingness.
What had happened?

(OOC) Nothing to appologize for, Mai. This potentially great thread's only been on standby mainly because of a certain orchestrator....*Frogs Dante in the arm* who suddenly picked a great time to have a busy life offline. But, he's filled me in on what he saw for this thread, so I'll carry it out as well as I can. Sh*t, that thing's already struck. It was just his luck that the invisible being just happened to be standing right behind Mai. Of course, for all he knew, that thing was probably watching since the party first congragated here, so naturally it could have picked any vantage point from where to enter. In that moment, it appeared that Mai had also sensed something awry, as if the people seen were not the only persons present. Kez actually did hear a couple of things, when the beauteous demoness let her wings spring out. It was a sound akin to cloth being torn by a silent bullet in the wind. Her wings extended and sliced quickly enough in that single motion to have torn through a tree. And while indeed slicing through the bark of a nearby redoak, the second sound, was what caught his attention. The previously described sound was what made him spring into a calm walk, just as Mai whipped around and shielded the girl with her wings. Stepping first to Mai's left, Kezaa's right heel touched to hers. All the while though, his eyes never left that indention in the grass, even as the faint crimson mist erupted from Mai's side. And the retreating indentions was what he kept his unblinking and convicted gaze upon. This assassin was about to die, whatever it was. "Shall we dance?" Kez asked aloud, still not pausing in mid step as Kezaa's right foot aligned with the demoness's left. He did not give Mai time to reply, and hoped that she would not take his proximity as a threat and be willing to go with the flow of that next half second. The only way he could see himself derailing this invisible assailant's escape utterly was with a good vantage point and an even better surprise. Shifting his right heel to his left, Kez let his entire body roll with the motion, moving across Mai's now leaning back and across to her other side, where Kez then had a full and uninhibited view of where he calculated the beast to be. Before his feet even touched the ground, Kez reached into his coat and ripped out the segmented weapon, now itching to draw the creature's blood. At the end of the five segments was an axe, close to the size of a dinner tray from the school's dining hall. Hurling it in that same moment, the axe connected with a much meatier sound than before. Slightly perplexed, Kez was certain that attack would have taken the head off of any normal figure close to the range of 5 to 6 feet in height. It likely caught the creature instead in the upper torso or collarbone. Landing on his feet, Kez stood poised with his legs deeply bent, trying to keep this struggling fish of an opponent in place.

The ghost's head snapped up at the sound of wings being spread, and then gasped when Mai hissed, apparently in pain.
Now this was her business.
Her bright green eyes flashed black for the first time since Mai had given her the gift of death, and she was about to rush for whatever had caused Mai such pain, but Kez stepped in.
That was a very nice weapon he had there, and that was an almost satisfyingly meaty landing she heard, but it wasn't enough.
She rushed.
Her frozen semblance leaving a trail of frost-bitten air behind her as she headed for the black form. The dead gypsy girl bunched up a fist and rammed it hard into a set of solar-plexus. Normally a strike there would hurt, when the area was struck with a fist of ice that went through the flesh and continued to feeze up the muscles; that was a great deal of pain.
That her hand met no resistance made the phantomess even more enraged.
Removing her hand from the assailant's flesh, she swept a kick up towards where the head should be, once again, meeting no resistance, but definately going through something.
She stood back on the forest floor and panted a little, she hadn't done that for a long time.
"Are you alright Mai?" That was her only concern, oh, and the other thing.
"What is it, Kez?" She asked, she hadn't actually looked.

ooc: *kicks thread back to life determinedly*
bic:
Now she looked, and it was horrible.
Putting it on ice hadn't helped either, and the ghostly figure still wanted the satisfaction of connecting with something.
So she tried a spell again that she had figured out a little while ago, though the certainty of it working wasn't one hundred percent as the spell was new, temperamental, and sometimes she got different results.
This time, it worked, though again, the result was different from the last time she had used it. Last time she had called a ice-hot sword of glowing white description, this time it was a flaming black thing, ringed in burning white and red flames. This was a very different etherial sword, but it was still going to give her that nice solid feeling of actually striking something.
Holding it in both hands she levelled it, then rose herself so that the sword she brandished was levelled at the things neck. Still gripping the hilt, the ghost separated her hands, and the sword devided. It wasn't quite as long now, but it was still a sword, indeed, now it was two swords, one against the neck, the other pointing carefully at the creature's groin.
"Is everyone all right?" She asked, not turning from the shadowed creature.

ooc: Am I the only one that doesn't know what on earth is happening? Well, perhaps that's better, for neither does Rezna. And Sorry I took AGES to reply, I just didn't' know where this whole thing was going. Oh, well. *dives in blindly*
bic:
Rezna's mind struggled to sort out what had just happened. She remembered Mai gaze at her wand, and her reaction to it. For a moment the girl considered hiding her wand, for angering a demoness was not a plan of hers, but she did not have a chance. In mere seconds, Mai gave Rezna a commanding stare before whipping out her dark wings that before the girl never knew existed and spinning around before her.
Rezna caught a glimpse of pain on the other's face as Mai blocked her from whatever it was that both the demoness, Shae, and Kezaa attacked with all their might. Hearing yells and gasps, it was all Rezna could do to fall to her knees to get a glimpse of what was happening from behind the dark mass of wings.
To the girl's green eyes, it seemed as though the three of them where fighting mere air. However, the worry in the ghost's voice made Rezna certain that whatever it was, it was more serious than it looked. And when hadn't an invisible foe not been a threat?
Shae's magic was definitely impressive, as she made a whip of red and white flames appear and used it to attack the invader. Glancing at Kezaa, Rezna finally noticed that he kept his head down. Doing the same, she noticed footprints in the mud. Footprints that moved of their own accord. Looking at her wand, Rezna knew that it was of no use. Besides, any spell she was to try could possibly could go right through that invisible figure and hit someone who was more flesh and blood than it.
Her breath quickening, Rezna tried to think of what to do, something, anything of help. But fearing that her ideas could cause more harm than good, she refrained from executing any of them.
Not wanting to go against Mai's unspoken orders, Rezna never left her protected spot behind the other's open wings. It was still a shock to the girl that the demoness had protected her from this invisible figure. The blond girl was grateful, of course, she just was a little unsure as to what was expected of her now. Getting back to her feet, she inched over to stand behind Mai's bent form.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" she asked, her voice soft but strong. She was implying the whole fight situation, and she also couldn't help but voice her worry over the demoness' pain. After all, it was on Rezna's behalf the other was suffering, and the girl wanted to help her, or try to. It was this quality of hers that got her into most trouble, but that time the blond girl could hardly care less.

(OOC) If you're confused as to why we're grappling with this tall figure, check Dante's last lengthy post. It kinda came in there.

The ghost looked at Rezna for the first time, the look was cold, distant, even - what a terrible pun - dead.
"Run back to the school so that no one here needs to worry about you. That is the best thing you can do to help until you learn how to really use that bit of wood in your hand." She said, her purple hair floating around her head.
Turning back to the shadowed thing that was leaving rather massive boot marks in the forest's leaf littler, the ghost levelled her twin swords at it as she had learned in her training while she was a gypsie, and in her years training in her old school in Romania.
... In Romania ...
She began to mutter, unsure if the spell would work for her because she was now dead. The effect of the spell was damaging to the subject, creating a series of cuts. It was one of her experimental spells from her later years in Romania.
But she was dead now, and while she had some magic left in her, it was etherial magic, not the sort she could perform such spells with.
There was a sharp rushing of wind, but nothing else.
Damn.

OOC: Sorry I fell off the face of the earth for a while... Wasn't planed or anything. As for right now, I'm confused beyond oblivion. The being of unknown origin (thats my name for it for now) is about 12 feet tall, and on the plane of Shadows. Almost everything I said in the original post has significance to it. Each will reveal themselves if given the chance.
I haven't the slightest clue as to what hurt Mai, being that the creature hasn't done anything except not disappeared from Dante's sight. I have no idea, neither would your characters, what you're attacking being that it's only a remote chance that Shae could see the creature because she's already dead. Mai wouldn't be very likely to see it either, the only connection would be that both are demons. Dante can see it because the creature and himself have a very strong connection. There are a couple key lines in each of the posts that are referring to something that would reveal a good deal of info.
I'll post in a short while, right now I need to think for a bit and do my homework... *scratches head*
