{ooc}: No worries. ^. ~
{bic}: The girl was a thoughtful one, and Mai tended towards liking this. She spoke when she was spoken to; manners, and she cried when pain riddled through her insides; natural. Over all, Tru was making a fairly delicious impression on the demoness, whether she knew it or not. And though by choice of words things seemed bad, it was children like Tru that Mai let go. They were innocent, as she had once been.
In the second that passed when Tru closed her eyes, Mai bent her knees and swiftly pulled a small dagger from it's sheath in her boot, then she straightened herself up again and stood tall. She held the blade in her fingers, which were by her side, and the hilt was hidden behind her arm, also by her side. The dagger was invisible to Tru, and that was probably for the best.
Yes, the blood still dripped from the fingertip of her other hand, and slowly, Mai brought it to her mouth and cleaned it off with a simple momentum of her tongue. Delicious.
The girl had guts, staring into Mai's eyes with her misty caramel gaze, making Mai smirk further. It was good to see one able to look at their victor, and not shy away or avoid eye contact for fear of death. Hell, death was a warrant for the easy way out, as far as Mai was concerned. Mai was far from angry, oh no, if anything she was quite enjoying herself, and little to nothing that the girl said or did could have changed that mood.
"It hurt..."
The girl squeaked, and Mai's eyebrows raised in a mock-sympathetic way. It was a lie, demons didn't always like hurt, if anything, demons like territory, and didn't like threats. Tru was a threat, whether she knew it or not. Once one entered the forest, the others would too, unless the one was let out with marks to give evidence of the danger inside the forbidden place. It was already clear that the others entered the forest after one did, and so to this, Mai practised her skills on mind and body manipulation, so perhaps one day, she could apply it to their race, dare they cross the final line.
Before Mai could answer, the girl took a step and gently pleaded with Mai to let her go. "It bothers me when you enter the forest, that is all." She said in answer to the first. This was so if Tru decided to enter and avoid Mai --so not to 'bother' her-- it would in fact be bothering the demoness. Hopefully the girl would put this together and never enter the place at all, ever again.
Then, the girl bowed. Mai was honoured.
Mai then stepped aside, she could see the edge of the forest easily from where they were, and she would supervise the child's exit. Nodding briefly she gestured in the general direction of the castle and in one swift movement, the dagger at her side was flicked forward and it's sharp edge slit through the hair around Tru's wrists, missing her hands by millimeters.
Casually, Mai slipped it back into her boot and tilted a couple of fingers forward in a wave goodbye. "Off you go then." She said simply. "Oh, and my dear, that did not hurt. You shed tears because you were afraid. A pin-prick to your stomach is far from pain." Mai told the girl softly, lowering her voice at the last, as a glint in her scarlet eyes spoke for themselves in saying the demoness had been to the very depths of pain and back again.
Mai turned and began walking off deeper into the forest, departing the others in the clearing with a brief nod, before continuing on, her back turned. Suddenly an unusually random thought crossed Mai's mind, and she sent a single telepathic message to Tru, before disappearing into the shadows.
You have beautiful hair love.
