Strolling through after dusk

[Sungai]

Sungai walked out of the forest, his eyes darting lazily around the grounds in front of him as he strolled easily across the grassy surface in front of him. He put a hand in his pocket and pulled out a flattened packet of cigarettes, pulling one out and resting it gently between his lips. He clicked his fingers and a silver lighter with a picture of a river engraved onto it slid into his hand and he flicked it open, lighting his cigarette and taking a lengthy drag of it.

Blowing the smoke out, Sungai realised that he had reached the Quidditch Pitch, almost a place of worship for the school. There was the faint smell of perspiration in the air - even though it was dark, the smell lingered from the last game. The coppery smell of blood danced across Sungai's senses, tantalisingly playing with his mind and causing Sungai to gently run his tongue over his fangs. Someone must've had an injury, and so the blood must have been spilt somewhere close.

He reached the centre of the pitch, the magical lines still glowing slightly as he stepped over them and sat down in the centre, puffing gently on his cigarette and feeling the breeze move easily through his dirty blonde hair.

Makira was out walking her massive canine companion, Bolt, when she smelled smoke. It smelled like cigarette smoke.

Obviously Bolt caught a whiff, too, because he snarled and growled a bit. Then she realized she was at the Quidditch Pitch. She saw a figure sitting in the center.

She thought, 'Ooh: maybe I can make a new friend..'

Makira made her way over there, with Bolt right beside her.

[Sungai]

Sungai caught the scent of the dog, and of fresh meat over the smell of his half-smoked cigarette. The person was too young to hold authority over him, so he was hardly worried about what they might say.

They stepped onto the pitch, Sungai had already fixed his golden eyes on the point he knew they would appear at, and took another nochalant drag of his cigarette as they made their way toward him.

"You're brave," Sungai commented as soon as they were in ear-shot. "Approaching a Vampire on a dark night,"

As soon as the figure finished speaking, Makira froze.

Bolt started to bark at the man the the center of the Quidditch Pitch.

"B...Bolt, be quiet..", Makira uttered nervously to her dog.

"Be quiet, boy....", she said, more firmly.

Bolt kept at it.

"Bolt, please be quiet!", Makira said, desperately.

[Sungai]

Sungai eyed the dog, unfolded his legs from beneath him and stood up. He was tall, a good quality and one he enjoyed using to its full effect to impose. He did so now, after raking a slender hand through his hair.

He took two steps toward Makira, and took a final drag on his cigarette, stubbing it out with a booted foot on the Pitch.

"Would you like me to shut him up?" Sungai enquired, a glint of malice in his eyes.

With a growl, Bolt let up.

"I am REALLY sorry!", Makira exclaimed, nervously.

"By the way, I'm Makira Blackthorne."

[Sungai]

"Makira Blackthorne," Sungai repeated. He looked the girl up and down with a raised eyebrow.

"And dog," He added, watching the beast next to the girl with digust. He muttered something under his breath that sounded oddly like 'Security', but one could never be sure.

"So, Makira Blackthorne, what are you doing wandering around the Quidditch Pitch at night?" Sungai enquired, seemingly innocently.

"Well, on my walk with Bolt, he dragged me over here. He must've seen how big it was, and wanted to run around. I couldn't this morning or afternoon: no time." she said timidly.

[Sungai]

Sungai blinked and ran a tongue over his fangs, half for show and to scare the girl a little and the other half for he hadn't eaten yet today.

"But surely this is far past your curfew time, or doesn't the school use their curfews anymore?" Sungai pointed out, slipping his hands into the pockets of his big cloak.

Makira saw him lick his fangs and it sent a shiver down her spine.

"Oh...right. I don't how late is, because I don't keep an eye on the clock, and I don't know the curfew, so...I really have no idea.." she said shyly, while rubbing the back of her neck.

[Sungai]

Sungai took a step closer to the girl.

"Well, the moon is out," Sungai gestured to the sky. "And the Vampires are lurking. I would assume it's safe to say that it's either quite late...or early morning." Sungai's golden eyes twinkled with an eerie power.

"Perhaps you should get a watch, so you can keep an eye on the time," Sungai suggested, taking another step closer. The moon came out from behind a cloud and shone silver on the girls neck. Sungai ran a tongue over his fangs again, trying to anticipate the taste on his tongue.

Makira felt a strong tug and fell over: Bolt was trying to drag her away. She quickly scrambled up, still eyeing the Vampire warily: she was scared out of her wits.

Makira then saw him lick his fangs, again.

"G-g-g-g...g-good suggestion-n.", she stammered, positively trembling all over with fear.

Bolt kept tugging at his leash, dragging her with it.

She looked up at him, and suddenley locked her sienna, amber-speckled eyes with his golden orbs.

"I-I-I'd b-bett-tter be goi-ing...!" she said as Bolt made a run for it.

As she was darting behind Bolt, she closed her eyes and thought, 'Some Gryffindor I am! Owell: being scared doesn't mean you're a coward, right? I just hope that, if he gets me, someone will rescue me...'

Morgan had been out for a walk, when she heard a dog barking. She knew that bark, It was Bolt, and she knew that he was accompanyed by Makira. She got to the pitch just in time to see Makira run to the castle, terrified lookon her face. She looked back to the pitch to find a vampire, smoking. She walked across the pitch, approching the vampire fearlessly and asked "Can I bum one?"

[Sungai]

Sungai looked the girl in front of him over, taking in her appearance and her fearlessness. He shrugged, looking into his deck and offering her one.

"You shouldn't smoke," Sungai said, the hypocrisy and sarcasm clear as he lifted another to his mouth, flicking his lighter open with practised ease, the end of the cigarette lighting up with a gentle orange glow.

He watched Makira leave, the golden eyes following her retreating back and stumbled steps. He pulled the cigarette out of his mouth and blew the smoke out between his lips.

"I think I scared the girl," Sungai commented and offered the lighter to Morgan.

Makira stopped as soon as she noticed Morgan. She was by the steps, watching Morgan walk up to him. She wanted to go back, but didn't want to get hurt. She wanted to live up to the Gryffindor standards, y'know, being brave. She almost did it, almost.

Makira wandered over stupidly, still as scared as before, but she wanted to keep an eye on Morgan: she was using that as an excuse. She wanted to go back, but she didn't, she was torn.

So, she just stood between the steps of the school and the Quidditch pitch, trembling with fear, but trying to steady herself by taking deep breaths, trying to decide if she should go over or stay stationary.
