I'm sorry to see that you're leaving Rose, but I do hope that you're able to find what it is that you're looking for and do what you need to. Take care and good luck *hugs*
Hmm... I'm not sure if just up and leaving will solve everything. Sure, it's a fresh start, but like several others have stated, when we moved before, it took us a while to get going again because many of us had threads and plots going on. I don't know about anyone else, but the majority of the ones I had been in never continued and it halted any sort of character or plot progress. It's the people that need to be willing to make the change; to swallow any indignation and/or work it out privately. Minor "ooc" posts really aren't that botheringsome, especially if it's at the top or bottom of a post making some sort of remark like they had to go or didn't know what to write and wasn't satisfied with it.... personally, I find these fine. It's just when plots and any sort of purpose is obliterated in hurtful hogwash. And I like being able to talk about the real life in the Muggle World. It helps us to get to know and "play" a bit with other people. Another question is: do we want a hardcore rp-ing site, or one that's not so rigid and let's us go on here to have fun as both ourselves and our character?

Yeah, Ive been on other sites where they thought 'ditching' the OOC boards would be a good idea, and the posts slacked off IMMENSELY. People liked having a place where they could be silly and not have to wear 'the face' of his or her character, so I would be against the removal of an OOC board.

True. Totally getting rid of an OOC board would probably spawn unwanted OOC elsewhere...but look at the Muggle World right now.
It's the board with the most topics, views, and posts in this whole entire site! Nothing is wrong with silly-ness, IRL topic threads, or just chatting from time to time, but there are other places for it (Pms, etc.) I just think that the OOC should be down sized. Most of the fights start in the Muggle World board and from there they grow, infecting other boards and people all around MH, until everyone here is just plain sick of the s***.
I stand by the other idea about warning the members of over posting in the Muggle World. Locking it for a little while couldn't hurt if OOC was being abused.
Here is an exact quote I just found from Laura, the Gryffindor Prefect. Sounds like the problems have been going on for a while. I found this on the 2nd page of the Student Council in the thread 'Cutting down on OOC'. Take a look if you wish.
*Reads passage out loud. Shuts off the projector, cleans up desk, throws on coat, and leaves the Student Council.*
And I'm spent.

I agree with everything everyone has said.
This is first and foremost a role-playing site. The role-playing has indeed slacked off a lot, and I think that this is also due to the posting of threads that have 'OOC: Invite Only' threads on the top. It's okay to have solely invite only threads at various intervals but if every second or third thread is one then it's going to make it harder for poeple to role-play.
It's also possibly the fact that people start threads and other people just ignore the threads that have been started because they don't know the person who has started it. Isn't the point of a role-playing site to make friends?
*shrugs* I think we need to just pull out all the weedy parts of MH. Do some gardening.

For what Kiki said with the "ooc: Invite only" at the top of posts. That has become annoying when I try to find a good place to roleplay at because it's for only invited people. I understand that a plot was made and they want to keep it but other people should be involved in it inside of the ones that you only invited to the thread.
It's also possibly the fact that people start threads and other people just ignore the threads that have been started because they don't know the person who has started it. Isn't the point of a role-playing site to make friends?
This has been happening to me ever since I started RPing on MH. I have made posts on here trying to get them noticed but I don't get any posts. I know that people look at my posts but say nothing in it. I try to make friends here but I have very few because of people not posting with people that they "don't know."
And I agree with what Kiki is saying (Yes I know a lot of what I said here was from Kiki's post). But something should be done with the muggle world, it is over flowing with OOCs and isn't it also IC? I have never seen ONE IC post in the muggle world....

I think the muggle world should have a new use to it. In the muggle world I think it should be used to disscuse over plots and things that we want to do and work out. ((Thought of this seeing the post by Zee and the one by Morgan)) Because the descrition under the muggle world says "Everything Muggle goes here! IC and OOC allowed."
Now to me that means it's open for chit-chat as most people use it for. Maybe changeing it to "Discussing IC plots and LITTLE talk about IMPORTANT matters only." Maybe that would help it more? And delet the pointless chit-chat that is in the muggle world now.

Once upon a time in a castle quite like this one, there WAS plots in the Muggle World. But now it's just become a bored for pointless threads. *sighs*

Then the muggle for only plots and important things like if somebody is going away for awhile and that's it. Would that work?

Maybe we could have two? Like, one for just plots, and then another under a different title for OOC stuff?

But what good would that do? Nothing really, just cause a mess again with the over flow of OOC posts. We want less OOC posts then there was before.

I dunno...it made sense at the time...? but I think it could encourage more IC posts in the MW, so that they're not drowned out by OOC posts. -shrugs- I don't know.

Yeah, muggle world for plots....uh....Only important notices like if somebody is going away or saying if they can't be on for a long time....AND how about for like trips to the muggle world? Would be fun, no? Go visiting the muggle and half huggle kids homes or anyone that lives in the muggle parts of the world!

Mmm, I don't know if it was in the Muggle World, it may have been Diagon Alley, but our dear Headmistress Rose was once a student - yes, hard to believe, I know! - started up a thread about her muggle parents coming to the school and trying to get used to the magic-ness of this world. Why not have some like that? Surely we aren't all pureblood wizards? But the idea of going out into the Muggle World, sneaking out even, to have a look at the world which half of us have never seen, only dreamt about - the opposite of the muggle kids - a good idea.
