A few seconds later, the doors to the Dance Hall opened again. Lottie had seen the posters everywhere, and decided that it would be right to make an appearance at the dance. After all, it was Lola who was hosting it, and she had met the new Hufflepuff, so why shouldn’t she go?
The majority of the day had been spent trying to decide what to wear. It seemed that other girls had been talking excitedly about the dance too, and they all seemed to be going in really nice dresses. So, Lottie decided to wear something nice too, throwing the denim skirt and halter top back into her trunk.
Hours later, a different Lottie to the one usually seen emerged from the Hufflepuff common room, and headed down the corridors towards the dance hall, which was where she was slowly walking in to now.
Her dress was simple, but it looked good. The colour she had picked out for the night was lilac, and her plain dress reached the floor with two spaghetti straps holding it up. The brunette’s shoes were white with a small heel so that the bottom of the dress didn’t drag along the floor too much. Lottie’s hair had been curled, with the bottom of ringlets brushing lightly against her shoulders and a tiny lilac flower clip was on one side. On her left wrist was a delicate looking silver chain and there was a very similar chain around her neck. Overall, Lottie thought she looked good.
As did everyone else. Suddenly, the young Hufflepuff felt very plain in comparison to everyone else who was wearing bright glittery dresses, or PVC numbers. Looking down at her own outfit, the brunette girl suddenly felt a little self conscious, and pondered leaving for a few seconds.
That was before she saw Wyl over at the drinks table, and a wide smile formed on her face. Boy oh boy he looked different. Never had she imagined him in a suit, and dressed like this.
