The ghost was suspicious about why the young lady wanted to consult the other two about what might have been said, and the phantom herself would be the first to admit that she wasn't above listening at the door.
She had not expected laughter, at any point, and the set, blank looks weren't giving anything away in the least.
But she was pretty good at stuff like reluctand answers, not answers, and blatant lies. They had all been part of her life back home in Romania, and if she couldn't spot and - tell the difference between - each one, then she hadn't been paying attention.
"I'm not at all sure I believe you," an understatment on her part. "But I suppose that we have no choice to take your word for it until the young man himself wakes up."
Turning from the close-mouthed girls, the ghost sought out Carrie's ear.
"The girls aren't telling how it happened, how long until he wakes up, do you suppose?" She asked quietly, looking at the young man on the bed.

'Damn, She's good...' Shazza thought to herself, not once slipping her poker face.
She tilted her head to the side to see how the other two were doing.
'They aren't doing too bad either.' she added. 'I'll have to set up a poker night with them...'
Tilting her head to the side even more, She noticed the look of extreme worry in Sen's eyes; following her gaze, she saw that they were set on the owl-boy's unconscious body.
'I know how you feel, kiddo', Shazza thought, staring at the patient as well.

"No, they're not," Carrie answered Shae, looking between the three girls. The straight faces were a put on countenance, she knew that much. "Now, girls. You've got two choices. Either a) you tell me what happened so I can help him, or b) you don't tell me what happened, and I find it difficult to treat him."
Glancing down at the boy again to show any signs of stirring, Carrie pulled out her wand and cast: "Accio smelling salts!" Catching them expertly in her hand, the brown haired nurse opened the bottle and gently wafted it under the boy's nose, hoping this would wake him up quicker.
"It could be days before he wakes up, depending on what happened," she sighed, hoping it would be sooner. Working all day and all night was taking its toll on the nurse, and she was beginning to despair over any situation that entered the wing, never mind ones where she didn't know what had happened.

Shazza sighed.
'They're going to think I'm crazy...'
"I found him in the Owlery while he was an owl. Then all of the sudden, he turned into a person. The other two came by shortly after."
Then she remembered the arrow. "This was stuck in his arm- er, wing- whatever." Noticing just now, she saw runes on the arrow that she could not understand.
'Man, I have to sign up for that Ancient Runes class next year...'
Handing it to Nurse Carrie, she said "I just noticed the runes on it. Can you decipher it? Understanding where it came from would probably help..."

The ghost recognised truth at last, but as much as she was concerned for the young man, she was drawn to the arrow.
"If you will hold it still, I'll try and read it." There was something about the runes that was familiar, but she couldn't quite place it.
"Thank you for being honest with us, if whoever shot this arrow at him probably knew the owl was this young man, which leads to other, more serious questions."
Her sharp green eyes never left the arrow, she recognised the type of arrow, it was the standard hunting arrow for small game, she had used them herself, a long time ago. But the runes! She knew she had seen those runes somewhere before, recently, even, but as drawn as she was to them, she was not tempted in the least to reach out to it.
Where had she seen those runes before? They weren't from any of the books she had been reading lately, the arrow was covered in runes for death and destruction...
That night, in the graveyard, when she had watched, just to know what was going on, that was where she had seen them.
"Seriously, not good." She said, looking up at Shazza, a hint of worry in her normally calm green eyes.

Shazza clenched her fists, frowning at the new revelations.
'Dammit... I hate feeling useless...' she thought as she sighed in defeat, slowly unclenching her hands.
"Is there absolutely nothing we can do to help?" she asked the ghost, a hint of desperation in her voice.
Shazza couldn't help but feel extremely worried about the young man; she remembered the time when she first came here and was knocked out by the storm. Anna, who had became her first friend, and others had helped save her, and she wanted to return the favor to anyone who needed it.
But this seemed way over her head, and out af her hands.

The phantom looked at Shazza. Desperate to help, in much the same way she so often was herself, the ghost felt sympathy for her, and thought of something that could help.
"This arrow is a real problem, and the circumstances of this young man's injury are ... unusual, so it would be a help if you could write down everything you can remember from when you saw him with the arrow in his wing, up until now, and keep it going. Make note of the runes, everyone who has helped, and the young man's condition."
The runes were important, they were particularly dangerous, and the spectre suspected that there had been a distraction at the release, otherwise the arrow would ahve pierced the heart.
"You said he was an owl when you first saw him, was he carrying a message?" She asked, the thought occuring to her that a message might have been why he was shot at.

Grabbing a piece of parchment and a quill, Shazza replied "Actually, I don't recall him having a letter; I was too busy panicking about the arrow. But that would make sense..." Turning to the other two, she asked "Did you guys see any letters?"
Keeping an ear out for their response, she began to write.

"Would you go to bed already" the blonde Nurse said as she walked in through the doors, he statement of course directed at Carrie. Giving her friend a smile she walked up beside her "Alright who wants to fill me in quickly with what is going on here?" she asked looking over the boy.

The ghost smiled at Nurse Kasey as she entered the Wing.
"Something very strange, Nurse Kasey. Shazza's righting up everything she can remember that's happened so far, and we'd all like to know what more we can do." The phantom indicated the girl who was busy with a quill in her hand, before looking around again.
"Who's got the arrow?" She asked.
