As Sylph's flashing green eyes met Roan's hazel ones, they filled with concern and empathy. So that's what it was; Sylph had been right, the 'Puff was having acid flashbacks - but how if she'd never been exposed to the drug before the forest? It didn't usually happen after one hit, did it? And who would carry that much acid or LSD or whatever it was around with them, and willingly 'donate' it to someone like Roan? Any junkie wouldn't part with such a sizable proportion of their stash just to harm someone else, would they? So many questions... and yet the only one that really mattered right now was how Roan could be helped. At least now she had agreed to go to the hospital wing.
"It's not a weakness," Sylph told the brown haired girl firmly but gently. "It's not like this is your fault. It sounds like there's a very sadistic demon out there in the forest, although," she added as a wry afterthought, "we already knew that. But we can help you - the nurses can. There are potions to soothe the mind and others to give you dreamless sleep, things that will help you.
"And don't put yourself down, either," Sylph continued, pulling out another of the brightly spotted handkerchiefs that littered her pockets - this one blue and yellow, dabbing gently at Roan's tear stained cheeks. "So far you've been more useful than any of us - me included - just look at what you've done!" Sylph spread her hand at the piles of amassed information. "And how many times have you faced Fenris and lived? And now you've met Mai le Rosa - I suppose you've heard the tales about her? Roan, you are a very talented witch, you've got a knack for survival - we need people like that. Now stop crying, huh?" When Roan dropped her eyes, Sylph reached out to the girl and tilted her chin back up, forcing her to look into her eyes. She wasn't sure if she should do this; she hadn't known Roan very long, but she couldn't leave her to deal with this alone.
"Oi, you," Sylph said, raising her eyebrows, her voice clear and authorataive, a voice that was light and confident, a voice that would make anyone smile and feel more like themselves. "Listen to me, this'll all got sorted, got it? All you need is some rest, a chance to give your mind a break. Now, dry those tears, and tell me what you want to do right now - not what you think you should do - what you want to do."
