Kiki blinked. She hadn't expected Rose to lay everything on the table quite so forthrightly. She gave a small shuddering sigh and thought carefully before she gave her answer.
Ace. He'd gone, without even so much as a good-bye. Now that stung. Her best friend, who'd done all sorts of things to her life, not that sometimes she hadn't willingly participated, had just dropped off the face of the earth. But he was gone, so now he was no distraction or worry. Her recovery was complete wasn't it?
"Yes, I'm fine now," Kiki replied, her mind and heart arguing madly to the statement as it left her lips. She mentally begged both to shut up so she could listen to Rose and what she wanted of her. Maybe this could act as recovery therapy.

Claire, seated close to Rose, watched and listened carefully to the exchange between the two.
She couldn't remember ever really talking to Rose about what position Kiki would be able to take this year in the running of the school and outside agencies. The suggestion by Rose of Kiki taking the Ministresses position sounded quite adequate for her.
Claire said nothing as she continued to listen and read Kiki's face.

Rose smiled at Kiki, her fears put to rest.
"Well - let's talk more about the potential job at hand, then, shall we?" the rainbow-eyed Headmistress said perkily, raising her wand and pointing it at the glass coffee table. Immediately a china teapot and three tiny teacups appeared, each with a fine pattern of golden stars weaving around the rim. "Hot chocolate, then?"
Rose poured the steaming hot chocolate from the pot into the cups, and took one for herself, enjoying the aroma of chocolatey goodness.
"Right. Ministeress. Well... needless to say Meriel was a little lacking in the skills needed to be in a position that high. She was often away on unrelated business, or she ignored calls of duty she found to be 'beneath' her... but I have a feeling we won't have any of that kind of trouble with you." Rose flashed another smile. "The main duties of the Ministeress involve allowing certain powers to certain people - you would be in control of the Animagi, you would also be the one who trained Aurors and kept record of all the beasts at Magic Horizons... there's a lot to keep you occupied. Is there anything you particularly wish to know at this juncture?"
Rose blew her hot chocolate and took a tiny sip.

Kiki's head spun. Any questions she had? She didn't think she had any. Then one formulated in her mind.
"Will I have anything to do with the school?" She asked, picking up her mug and clutching it to calm herself.

Rose took another sip, her eyes swirling a collision of reds, pinks and purples as she thought on it.
"To do with the school?... I suppose there are jobs a Ministeress must perform within the school, such as assisting all graduate students into finding jobs of their own, prepherably with the Ministry. If we were ever to hold a Triwizard Tournament, you would be a key player in helping to organise that. Of course, you could visit Claire and I frequently to discuss any matters currently concerning any students at the school... To be honest, it's hard to say how much you'll have to do until you start the job. But our gates are always open to you, Miss Michaels."
Rose smiled, her eyes clouded with thoughts. She hoped Kiki was ready to take on the new position of Ministeress. "I know it sounds like a lot, but it really isn't - these things won't all happen at once, you know. You'll have time to ease in, and Claire and I will be around to assist you."

"A Triwizard Tournament," Kiki echoed wonderingly. "That could be fun." She sipped her hot chocolate, now more than hapy to accept the position.
"It sounds wonderful."

Rose smiled broadly, and finished off her tea with a warm contented feeling settling in her stomach. Everything was falling into place... after so long...
