[glow=green,2,300]THIS CLASS WILL BE CLOSED ON THE 25th OF DECEMBER (before 12am, Austrailian EST). NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED[/glow]
Katrine Leaves lay on the grass, staring up at the stars. She had hoped all of the students had received the note about the night class. She had posted in the common rooms but she remembered how little she looked at those boards. Vipera, who was curled sleepily over her stomach, seemed up happy as the professor began to stand.
Professor Leaves smiled as her class seemed to arrive. With a wave other wand there was a black board with beautifully silvery glow-in-the-dark chalk. In large, slightly messy hand she wrote, ”Mooncalves.” She turned to the partially assembled class and decided that she should begin.
“Glad to see you all made it. Who can remember what a Mooncalf looks like?” Kat asked in a loud voice,

"Cows. Well, more specifically, calfs. Really, really, weird looking dancing calfs." Came the first voice. Isaac emerged slowly from the shadows of the trees, clad in his usual black. "We meet again, Professor." He greeted quietly, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

Octavia stiffled a yawn while looking up at the new commer. She had no idea what mooncalves looked like, but from their name cow souded like a good description. She turned to look at the proffesor. <do they really Look like Calves?> she asked trying to hide her curiousity.

Immy happily walked in. She smiled at the room's setting. Cool, a night class! I wonder if Professor Leaves has a mooncalf... She sat down on the grass and listened to the professor's question. Immy thought for a moment. She had never seen one before, but she had read a little of what they look like for Professor Leaves' last assignment. Immy slowly raised her hand.
"Uh... spindly legs and bulging eyes?"

Abrena headed out to the spot where the lesson was supposed to take place, still not entirely sure of her way around the castle and the grounds. She had been here only a few days, and had hardly had a chance to meet anyone, though that could be at least partially attributed to the fact that she wasn't exactly an extrovert. This was to be her first class here at Magic Horizons, and to tell the truth, when she'd first seen the notice posted up on the boards in the Slytherin common room, she had considered "missing" it. Her absence could be glossed over by the fact that she was new, after all. But, she had to start going to classes sometime, and she certainly didn't find anything better to do.
And that was how she found herself making her way towards the as-yet small gathering, easily distinguished by the floating blackboard in their midst, with the word Mooncalves scralwed across it in silvery chalk. She headed over, but stopped at the edge of the group, doing nothing to call attention to herself. Instead, she seated herself on the grass a noticeable distance away, but still where she could see the teacher and the blackboard without difficulty.

Kat gave Issac an appreciative nod, forgetting that the boy couldn’t see it. “I’m glad to see at least some people did the assignment of reading up of Mooncalves.” The professor had found the idea of getting the students to study something one lesson, and show it to them the next as they began studying the next rather effective.
“Now, Let see if I remember,” She said pointing at the girl, “Immy? Yes, can you please shuffle backwards a little, and Issac if you could take a seat, it would help.” Kat said cheerfully. “Mooncalves, as we learnt last lesson are exceptionally shy. To be able to show you this one I had to go through a lot of people at the ministry. It has a slight disorientation draught so if it appears confused, that is why. It is for the creatures own safety.”
She gestured to two students she hadn’t met before, “I’m glad to see we have some new comers, don’t bother catching up on last class. The knowledge wasn’t important.”
Moving towards a large black shape, she whispered a short charm. The box opened slowly and out wandered a very confused cow like creature. “Quietly,” She whispered to the class, “Watch.” The Cow wondered over to a clear patch of grass, and began to dance.

Eleanor stifled a small gasp as the silvery creature wandered out, not expecting something that had been described so halfheartedly in her book to be so...graceful. And much more beautiful than she had ever expected it to be, definitely. She had been lying on her belly in the dewy grass, head propped up with the aid of her hands. It had been a late night for all the students present, she knew, but it was certainly worth it. She stayed as still as she could, brown eyes wide as she watched the creature's ritual with avid thoughts. What did it mean? If it meant anything at all...did it simply enjoy the starts and the moonlight as they did, or was it for more animalistic reasons, such as territory or mating? She would have to learn more about the shy beasts, the Hufflepuff thought in wonder. Everything was always so different when you were seeing it instead of reading about it. She had a wild urge to get up and join it in its weird, hooved dance - but such a silly notion was quickly dismissed from her mind. It certainly wouldn't tolerate her presence at all, much less so near. How foolish!
Eleanor glanced around quickly at the other students and the Professor, eager to see their reactions as well. It was too dark, however, for the poor girl to discern any real facial expressions or body language. The Professor certainly sounded enthralled...knowing there was no more for her to see from her peers or teacher, she returned to watching the Mooncalf dance with a distant, enraptured look on her face. It was soothing and awe-inspiring and a million other things all at once; she had never believed that an animal's dance would be so natural - after all, most people thought that dancing was a human activity. But judging from what they were witnessing at the moment, it clearly was not restricted to beings alone.

Isaac knelt on the grass, intently watching the Mooncalf. Well, watching wouldnt be the correct word, since he was still technically a blind man. However, by allowing himself to shift partially, almost imperceptibly, to demon form, he could 'see' the Mooncalf quite clearly. "Wow...." he whispered in awe.

Kalista dropped from the trees, behind Isaacs and smiled. “Yes, incredible creatures they are.” She offered, her red eyes alight with a fire of interest and bordering on love for the creatures the teacher had thought to tell her class about.
She had not meant to make her presence known, however, the subject matter of the lesson truly did intrigue her and she liked to watch these creature classes, even if she had decided to stop her classes, she still enjoyed the occasional drop in, from time to time.
She hoped her presence was not n wanted, but then again, she really didn’t care, she would not interrupt again, but simply watch, her silence was now, almost complete as she crouched next to Isaac, not looking at him, or the teacher, but watching the mooncalf closely.

Ziljaden sat silently against the trunk of a tree a bit to the side of the rest of the class. He had arived a bit late, but it was better than not being able to find the class at all as was with his others. He just watched the mooncalf with an odd sense of awe and began to sketch it on a small piece of parchment. Ziljaden stopped and looked at Kalista as she entered from the sky, but just continued to sketch the mooncalf in it's odd dance. His sketch was quick but decent, his attention had switched to Kalista and began a quick sketch of her. He hoped that she wouldn't mind his admiration.

Angel sat on a tree branch and watched the other students faces and reactions. Then she turned to the mooncalf and nodded a greeting as she did to all creatures.

Immy happily nodded to Professor Leaves and sat back a little to make room for Isaac. She couldn't see very well in the darkness, but she hoped she had moved enough. Immy giggled a little when the confused looking mooncalf walked out into the light. Her giggling silenced when the calf began to dance. The moonlight glistened off the animal and danced around the room. Immy smiled. It looks alot better than who the book said it looked.

“Yes, it would dance more gracefully,” The woman sighed gently. “If it had been my choice, I would have preferred to leave the creature un-drugged. This though, it better for the well being of the creature.” Katrine stroked Vipera’s scales as she spoke, looking around the class with interest to her extra guests. She gave a nod of welcome to the unexpected demon, and continued on.
“Now, that is actually what I would like you to consider. I would like a piece of writing about the ethics of such that will be worth 20 marks. Then I would like another piece of writing about Fairies. They are the next animal we will be studying.
“Please Begin”
ooc: I will have the material up of the textbook soon, it is being difficult with me at the moment.

Kalista nodded in greeting to the Professor then, after laying a hand lightly, lovingly on Isaac’s shoulder, she bowed her head then stepped back, stretching her dragon-like wings and before anyone could blink, was gone, leaving behind only the soft sound of a mirth filled laugh.
